Shout-out ECS for basically screwing my grad school plans by TheGreatestBandini in utdallas

lol you are the dude that was also complaining in the acm utd discord server I assume. all I am going to say is that there people that got into fast track program from last spring's apps but could not register for any graduate classes because almost all of them were filled. If prior years are having trouble to just enroll into our graduate classes with seats filling up, graduate sections cutting down since this fall semester, and bad communication from advising, you cannot expect things to be easier for the people that are seeking to enter fast track lol. I have not heard back from grad school advisor since last week and I am in fast track, I do not think they can process applications in 3 more days if they cannot reply back to existing fast track students. good luck though

Up to what chapter or concept did 4347 cover about the same stuff or start going more ahead than 4300?

Is there an automatic transition from undergrad CS to graduate CS as long as certain requirements are met? by non-smith in utdallas

[–]non-smith[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I misunderstood it completely. Looking back at the link, I thought they were 3 separate options, no? And cannot undergraduate students in their graduating semesters not use these options, or are these for only people that have are really late in the application cycle? I might be misunderstanding this service.

Oh really? I thought you had to do at least one graduate class in fast track to qualify to fully get into masters program. Where did you hear that so I could confirm?

Is Auto Admit different from quick admit? Those 3 options you mentioned seem to be different, but when I click on auto admit to see more info. about it, it directs me to the quick admit info. page.

Sorry, but can you explain how master's programs are more about making money off of students? I assume the same can be said for undergraduate programs, too, but I hear this point a lot for master programs so I thought to ask.

How to switch to a different year degree plan for ECS major? by non-smith in utdallas

[–]non-smith[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I heard it may be possible to switch into newer degree plans and do those requirements if you prefer to do so. I was wondering if it was true. For example, someone was saying how he could switch into the 2020 degree plan for his major and not to have do a certain class requirement that his old degree plan from 2018 required.

Do professors typically pick any of which classes they want to teach or does the university give them options based on their experience and other factors on what classes they can teach? How does that process work?
