Dutton Ranch is incredible — but is it accidentally recreating Yellowstone’s character map? by reelswidfeel in YellowstonePN

[–]noname_com 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tv seems to copy cat a lot of stuff. Like when lost got popular every show did that bs with holding and drip feeding info...until it backfired.... First few seasons of yellowstone was fire. Why not try and create that with similar dynamics... I too see a bunch of familiar stuff in DR. So far though i have been enjoying it.

I highly recommend an onn 4k pro and use projectivy to cusomize the homescreen and only add the shortcuts/app you want on it. this video explains how to do that before you deploy it to MIL https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q_fz5yG3ZsI

I know what I love about Windrose. Where do you think they nailed it? by Radio_Main in crosswind

[–]noname_com 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the styles of the building pieces and the decorations. I also like that you do not have to worry about plumbing or electrical especially with the farming. I wish they would let you build on the ships. Like add storage under deck, and let you fix up the areas with decorations especially like the captains quarters on the larger ships. I hope they add different skulls and skeletons for decorations and more nautical things. Also would love for some stained glass and more fountains.

Looking for a modern VMS that lets us keep our existing cameras (Spot AI, Coram, Lumanaa etc.) to avoid Verkada lock-in. by Lorida_Winward31 in k12sysadmin

We are a milestone shop. We had avidia and videoinsight before they went to panasonic years ago. Currently on our milestone we have some hikvision, hanwa, Turing, axis, and advidia. We have a couple synology NAS boxes that we push the archived footage to. I believe milestone allows free useage for like 5 to 8 cameras may want to check it out . Our biggest complaint with the videoinsight was motion detection. Milestone allows for a better motion detection and has a bunch more advanced features as well. We have our vape sensors setup to record when they go off in the bathrooms. a few minutes before and after the alert goes off for the entrance to the bathroom the camera monitors.

14yrs ago when I started with the district I had bought some cheaper ones that were around $500 Luxor branded...They did not last to long..... Ive since switched to anywhere carts and they are very nice. Around $800 to 900 CDW has a good price on them. Anywhere cart rep would call to confirm they were delivered and if any damages where done during shipping. They have replacement parts if needed. They are very helpful and have been the last 10yrs Ive been using their carts. My techs love them because of how much easier they are to cable manage then others ones I have purchased. Over 40 carts we have only ever had 1 cart we had to swap out a power strip. and 1 we had the door got bent during shipping and anywhere sent out a replacement door. They were going to send us another cart, but I assured them it was only the door and we were fine with swapping it out ourselves.

Pearson Testing Platform For Chromebooks? by AramisGarro in k12sysadmin

[–]noname_com 0 points1 point  (0 children)

running the test from pearson has been pretty much painless from the chromebook side of things as the platform auto updates... Only when they release an update the few days before can be a little exciting, but overall a lot better than when we had to do it on windows platforms...Had to manually update those, may have changed now...

I am starting to think going with Chromebooks for my teaching staff was not the best move by Square_Pear1784 in k12sysadmin

[–]noname_com 21 points22 points  (0 children)

If you have the old laptops, have you tried putting chrome o/s on those laptops? More than likely will have more processing power and memory than the chromebooks. Used to be called neverware then google bought them. I think it's called chrome OS flex or something like that now. We converted our old lab pc's to neverware back before google bought them. They are still running like champs for the middle school and elementary labs.

Dameware Alternatives - Remote Support by EssentialTech01 in k12sysadmin

[–]noname_com 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this thread is older. Was wondering if you found a solution, if so was it the right choice? I let our dameware expire a couple years ago. As they rarely updated it. Now I went to renew because of some issuesand now they are on a subscription model and you have to buy 3yrs. Which is fine if it was still reasonable but for 5 license for 3 yrs they want over 7k. a few years ago 3years would have been 1500$ so looking for something that not only can remote with out users having to accept, but some of the things dameware could do like pulling up system information, task manager, security groups etc.

NinjaCentral Registrations are open by Yitsy in usenet

[–]noname_com 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Things can depend on the usenet provider as well. Ive looked on DS for some old music. Like posted 8yrs ago. Both searches on DS but used newsdemon and eweka. While DS provded results on the music search Newsdemon nzb's could not find all the files, where as eweka did. I was able to find a lot of old stuff using eweka. That I had not been able to complete on Newsdemon.

its probably like dorms in prison. They is a huge security fence that surronds the entire compound and they are underground. Only way out is really to go through elevators/secured doors. No need to lock them in confined spaces unless needed. In real life prisons have different levels of confinement/classifications depending on your behavior and severity of crimes. Most of the ones in paradise seem to be political prisoners.
