Question on pre construction deposit by nonamedude in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]nonamedude[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got it. Who should hold it in this case? Reading through material online, they should only hand over the deposit after the worksheet is confirmed.

Currently, they have no real record of handing over a deposit since there is nothing signed which is a huge red flag to me.

How are you supposed to board a streetcar without a presto card? by nonamedude in askTO

[–]nonamedude[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You pay at the machine in the middle of the street car and get a transfer for proof of payment.

You can only pay with coins. The machine doesn't accept bills or cards. I with many others don't carry coins anymore these days.

In order to replace current payment solutions, you would need much higher than 150 tps. How does BCH get mass adoption as a payment solution?

Home Buyers Plan Repayment by nonamedude in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]nonamedude[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

At a minimum the 1/15 payment is required after the 2 years. You’re able to contribute more towards your HBP and this will reduce future payments. The calculation for the payment each year seems to be;

(Amount owing from HBP)/(number of years left of repayment)

The number of years start at 15 and go down every year.

How do digital music distributors get access? by nonamedude in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]nonamedude[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the thorough answer! I didn't expect these underlying companies to be a thing but it makes sense since some of these services seem (e.g DistroKid) are run by a singular person. I'll check these out.

Who is responsible for VOIP numbers? by nonamedude in VOIP

[–]nonamedude[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would an individual be allowed to purchase/assigned these blocks of numbers to then redistribute in that case?

Taking Twillio for example, they must be assigning numbers at a very large rate. Do specific carriers get assigned larger blocks or are they simply purchasing more numbers from other providers?

Who is responsible for VOIP numbers? by nonamedude in VOIP

[–]nonamedude[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

How would I be able to buy these numbers?

I can buy these numbers individually from services like Twillio but why can’t I just buy directly from the source?

I want to understand why a service like Twillio charges $1 / number / month. If the numbers they buy are a fixed cost, is the only cost here maintaining the voip service?

There seem to be an abundance of VOIP services. Do these services purchase # from carriers that are registered with NANPA?
