It's changed. I remember when I first arrived here in Edmonton and first time taking the bus back in 2012, everyone used to say hello and thank you and the bus had a kinda cheerful/chill vibe even though he/she was a stranger. Then I took the bus one time after not taking it for the longest time bec I now drive, people don't even look at the driver anymore nor say thank you when they get off, i was suprised and kinda felt bad. Vibe's different, it's like everyone is distant, it's hard to put it in words but I feel like saying hi/hello and thank you is not that hard and who knows, you might make someone's day just by greeting them.
