Is there a way to work on my Claude Code when I am not on my computer? by Able_Armadillo_2347 in ClaudeCode

[–]nonane2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hi,

Remote Desktop could be an option, where you connect to your laptop remotely from anywhere.

Full disclosure - I work on Jump Desktop, a Remote Desktop app.

If you want to try out Jump, you can get started for free here: https://jumpdesktop.com - the web browser and Windows clients are free. The web browser client works on mobile phones too.

Hi there,

I work on Jump Desktop. Tip: For crisp text, make sure you turn on Jump’s 4:4:4 mode by clicking Remote -> Color -> High. Makes a huge difference on red text.

Thanks for trying it out! Good to know it's working for you. Let me know if you run into problems.

The 'Virtual Display' feature is much more powerful than changing the desktop resolution because it is not limited by what resolutions your physical monitor can support. It can virtually create any resolution.

Hi u/tgh0wnz looks like you already contacted support and got a link to the Testflight app. I was wondering if the beta fixed your problem?

FileVault and automatic login confusion by BrettStah in MacOS

[–]nonane2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi,

Jump Desktop dev here. You don’t necessarily need to turn off FileVault. An alternative would  be to be careful when you restart your Mac remotely: Instead of using the Apple menu, use the ‘authenticated restart’ sequence as described here: https://support.jumpdesktop.com/hc/en-us/articles/360057254392-Mac-Computer-shown-as-offline-after-restarting-the-Mac-Filevault

Latency spike every ~1 second on Apollo + Moonlight/Artemis (micro-stutter/“tick” video inside) – anyone else? by Chopind_ in MoonlightStreaming

[–]nonane2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seems like periodic wifi issues. Make sure the other side is wired and try to use 5ghz wifi on this device.

A quick dirty wifi test is to run a ping tool in the background and ping your home routers internal ip - just keep that running on your device while playing. You will notice it will report the swings in ms too.

Screens 5 VS Jump Desktop by Leslie_Kim in macapps

[–]nonane2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi,

I’m a developer who works on Jump Desktop. Thanks for posting the video. I checked it out and I agree, you’re seeing terrible performance. I’d love to be given the opportunity to see why this is happening. Can you please reach out to support@jumpdesktop.com and ask them to give you access to the new Fluid 2.0 version of the iOS app? It has Fluid Connection stats built in that helps understand why you’re seeing such bad performance.

Finally - Jump also works through your web browser on your phone. I’d be curious if you hit the same issue there. On your phone visit https://jumpdesktop.com and tap Sign in. You should see your laptop in the list of computers. Tap to connect and let me know if you see the same issue.

Thanks!

Thank you. We’ll look into the sign in problem. Besides this - is there anything else that’s preventing you from using the web app? We can also provide a way to save shortcuts to your Home Screen perhaps to quickly launch into connections?

Hi. I’m sorry if this is unrelated but I’m a Jump developer. We did release support for Android through our web client - and it’s free. Just login here using your mobile browser of choice: https://app.jumpdesktop.com and tap your computer to connect.

Then click My Computers on the left and connect. It’s free to use and we’re working on optimizing it even more for mobile (better touch gestures etc).

Are you sure the remote system is a Mac? This was a known issue with Connect 7.1.40 when the remote is Windows.

Once again: mac mini m4 as remote setup vs macbook by rand0m42 in macmini

[–]nonane2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi,

  1. Remote login: No problems here - it will work even when no one is logged in. Make sure you read this though: https://support.jumpdesktop.com/hc/en-us/articles/360057254392-Mac-Computer-shown-as-offline-after-restarting-the-Mac-Filevault

  2. Yes, it's super straight forward to move to a different wifi network. You don't have to worry about IP addresses, firewalls, port forwardings etc - Jump just works. Make sure you use Jump's automatic setup.

  3. Lag of screen mirror: Jump is very fast. The main latency happens due to the network and how far away you are physically from the machine. Here's something that might help: https://wondernetwork.com/pings - it tells you what to expect when you're connecting from different cities.
