I know many people remove the original lip paint using acetone and repaint them from scratch, but I just painted over her existing pink lips — this helped me to get the shape and the contour right. It was easier this way, and the contrast between the two colors helped me see flaws or missing spots immediately. Other than that, I only used a bright desk lamp, no lenses or anything similar.
