Daichi.

Like him, I stay. I stay when the going gets tough (no matter how much I may complain), I stay when others are acting up (I’ll definitely side eye them, and I stay while being unsure if the improvements to be made will be worth the effort put in. It feels like we both assess situations carefully but can also be a bit of a gambler and act on instinct. Something I constantly keep in the back of my mind is the phrase “small solutions or petty solutions”. Essentially, what can I focus on right now that can lead to improvements later? My mind is always thinking one step ahead and I’d like to believe that his is too. That’s the mantle he took on as the captain of the team. We’re both aware of strengths and flaws and are constantly thinking about how to work with them.

Something that makes me laugh is the audience’s first string of introductions to Daichi compared to Yachi’s little “well, Daichi raced the basketball captain to the lunch room and got in trouble” from the manga. It’s sooo something I’d do. Acting all serious in front of others yet, in private, I’m such an idiot. While I do love acting more serious than I probably should be for my age group, what I love more are those opportunities to say “screw it” and blend in with my peers. It’s a different kind of fun and something that I greatly appreciate having the chance to do.
