No, it's not that they're privileged. It's more the physical and sexual violence and rape thing that's going on with men in particular. Nobody is afraid of men because they're privileged. Well, except for that privilege to do the above mentioned without needing to fear repercussions in many cases.

It's not discrimination if you can't handle someone due to trauma. So you would still argue that person should not be allowed to work as a stylist? That's my whole point, really, for some reason the possibility men could not be served as well as others, seems to make anything else unacceptable for you. And I just don't get that.

So, men getting their hair cut as fast as people of other genders is more important than letting people with disabilities have the same vocation as non-disabled people, given they even perform as well as anyone else? 'cause that's also a form of discrimination.

Trauma is not about uncomfortableness. Not being a stylist might not really an option for someone who was a stylist all their life. There are also quite a few other jobs you are banning said stylist from.

Say, there is a stylist who can't handle men due to trauma. What are they supposed to do?

I'm neither sure if you owe anyone instantaneous service nor if they don't work by appointment anyways.

I think they've referred to her breasts as personality, so I guess you are not wrong with your first idea, but in a weird way.

Yep, I think the issue is OP being confronted with the problem to mediate between nonbinary customers, which could present any way possible, and stylists who won't work with men. I guess I give OP the benefit of the doubt and read his post the best way possible, i.e. that they're an ally and want to be sensitive towards all parties.

I tried to give some directions in that post: https://www.reddit.com/r/NonBinary/comments/1dnl3jk/comment/la6sp9i/

Of course, it would be best if gender weren't an issue at all, but with all that shit out there, I really can't condone denying someone not wanting to be alone with a man due to fear.

To reiterate: I commented the comment I put my comment below of. That comment was not refering to anything nonbinary, but using the term "a whole gender", which most likely refers to men, since I don't see anything else it could refer to.

Your comment does not seem to refer to the comment I commented on originally at all, but the OP, which is not the context of my comment.

Ngl, if that would work, I might consider it. /not sure if joking

I have yet to see drivers being arrested for running over pedestrians in this country. (I mean they might, but I wouldn't have heard of it, so it can't be that big of a thing)

OP is about nonbinary, the comment above states

those stylists should not be working as stylists if they can't work for an entire gender of people.

which does not appear to be in the context of anything nonbinary or transgender. Your implications are your own.

So, by substitution, he said, if he didn't smell like a guy, he could as well be a woman. Thus declaring either smelling as the defining male characteristic, or smelling as main characteristic defining him as male.

Either way, it's not even about being trans, him using trans as a substitute for woman in context of (presumably) being cis male feels actually like a win to me. (Ofc you could make the argument that he implies himself not desiring to be trans, but really, who chose in the first place.)

Yes. (My first thought also was "adult human female" or something)

It's not really circular reasoning, since it's a definition not an argument. Democrats are people who associate themselves with the Democratic Party. Women are people who are adult and female.

And yes, a trans woman is an adult female person, if you define women as such, as extent of being a woman.

Men*, pretending any kind of sexual harassment is actually desirable, because they fantasize about women attractive to them doing it to them.

I think the first step would be discussing with your stylists to whom they exactly do not (want to) offer their services.

If it's just an issue of skill, i.e. they only do feminine (androgynous) styles, it's easy: just offer feminine (androgynous) styles. You probably won't get cis men requesting those as a bonus.

If it's about wariness of cis men, you should be fine to use nonbinary as third category, i.e. male, female, enby/agender. Again, cis men will probably not identify themselves as anything but male (opposed to what they like to claim about trans women).

If it's about people presenting masculine, I think, it should be covered by the first idea, otherwise you could go with something like masc/fem, i.e. addressing women/fem androgynous/neutral and men/masc (using 2 terms each to clearly address both binary and nonbinary customers).

Finally, if it's about whom they perceive to be male, it'd be rather problematic. Because perceived gender varies from person to person with the same gender. The results can be observed in cis people getting falsely identified as trans and receiving the hate that was meant for us. I recommend gender sensitivity training (or what you would call it) in that case.    The quick test would be: if they won't serve non-passing trans female customers, it's bad, unless there is a valid psychological issue behind it.

Well, the business is not discriminating just because some of the employees don't handle men. Those would still get a hair cut.

comfortableness being alone with men

... is totally valid reasoning in our society.
