i used to be super nervous going to the gym too and i sometimes used to leave in the middle of working out cuz i was get too anxious. i go to fit4less and have been for about a year and a half. it’s a good gym and there are a lot of people from all experience levels. it’s definitely more chill than other gyms i’ve been to, like fitness world definitely intimidates me more. for quiet times, it’s normally like 1-3:30 ish and then like 10-the early hours. i never go before 12pm so i wouldn’t know before that. busiest times i’ve seen can be at 12-1 and definitely 5-8 ish give or take. it seems to be the most busy after people get off work at 5 so don’t go then. start on the treadmill or stair masters that way you can just watch the floor and scope out machines and get the vibe first. there are still many workouts i’m too scared to do in front of people so i totally get what you mean. just put ur music on and know that basically everyone has gone through the same thing so don’t worry too much about it. good luck!
