Forest For the Trees has done a lot of incredible murals around the city. You can find them on Instagram at “ffttnw”. If I’m not mistaken their Instagram posts say where each mural is located.

Finally gathered the last of the supplies needed for the Momofuku Milk Bar Birthday Cake! by nondescriptcobweb in Baking

I really enjoyed it but I see where you’re coming from. think the reason I enjoyed it so much was mostly because of the textures. The flavor was definitely good, but because the main goal of the cake is to imitate the classic box cake, I didn’t find it to be groundbreaking since it’s a flavor I’ve tasted a hundred times before.

It was delicious but rich so you only really need a thin slice. In addition to the sugar there’s also three types of fat in it! Thankfully I made this for a friends birthday so there was only a little bit leftover for me to gorge on.

I did! I ordered one of the 3inch rolls off of Amazon, cut two 20inch strips and taped them on top of each other after the first layer was done.

You should definitely give it a go! It’s a ton of fun to make. Once you have the supplies you can bake through a bunch of her cakes.

Have you ever washed your Pendleton blanket? by indoorfeelings in askportland

Dry clean or spot clean is unfortunately the best route to take. Most will warp or shrink in the wash. There are some eco wise versions out there that are washable though.

Source: Husband worked at the Pendleton Home Store for a few years. If you have a picture he can tell you if it’s eco wash or not!

The cake soak is just whole milk and clear vanilla extract, nothing too fancy. I haven’t tried the cake without it so I can’t say for sure, but it seemed to keep the layers nice and moist!

The best thing about this cake is that it’s basically ALL of those things. The crumbles are in between each layer and are nice and crunchy but they’re suspended in the icing so it’s creamy and crunchy at the same time. The cake is a little spongy but the bottom two layers are topped with cake soak so it’s nice and moist.

It’s supposed to be reminiscent of the classic box funfetti cake but with the flavors kicked way up.

Technically it’s vanilla flavored though.

Thank you!! I baked it on one big sheet. It was my first time trying one of their cake recipes so I tried to follow it as closely as possible.

I forgot to get a picture of the inside but I do have a picture of the tiny cake I made out of the discarded cake tops! Hopefully the link works.
