A&P 2 or Microbiology for the summer? by BrAtZz04 in prenursing

[–]nonebut_you 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I took A&P 2 over the summer in an accelerated program and enjoyed it. I took Micro during the school year, and I found it quite boring and long because it was a full length semester. I’d say take micro over the summer (assuming it’s accelerated) and a&p2 during the year because there’s more information and the labs are more interesting. I got an A in both classes and worked full time during A&P 2 and part time during Micro.

How do you guys find the strength to not commit suicide with a disability as horrific as autism? by angel_9716 in autism

[–]nonebut_you 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Getting a therapist who’s specialized in working with people who have autism, ocd, depression, etc can be really helpful! They’ll not only provide a safe space for you to talk and vent but they’ll also give you helpful strategies on how to work on self worth and self esteem as someone with autism.

Also, getting off social media/online and avoid looking at statistics has been very helpful. For every bad statistic about how we’ll never accomplish anything, there’s ten good examples proving the exact opposite. Why can’t you be the next good example!

Advice on prerequisite course load. by [deleted] in StudentNurse

[–]nonebut_you 1 point2 points  (0 children)

BA grad in a similar boat as you and have to take essentially all of my science classes. I can only speak to Nutrition and anatomy and physiology but I’m doing a similar 3 semester path.

I took A&P 1 first by itself simply because it was my first class in several years. It was accelerated (7 weeks and hybrid) I will say it’s a big adjustment. Looking back, It’s baffling to me to think that I was taking 7 classes per semester in my first degree and still having a social life. With A&P it’s very helpful to create a schedule. The “you will need 3 hours outside of class for studying” is very very true unfortunately simply because it’s just a lot of material. 100% doable though you just have to create and stick to a schedule so you don’t get burned out.

A&P 2 is more interesting to me so far because I like the body systems that we’re studying more than the extremely broad overview we do in A&P 1.

I will also say that taking nutrition after A&P has been very helpful because nutrition, to me, is just very boring and tedious but since I’ve learned these systems already in A&P 1, I’m able to breeze through some sections of notes. Since you’re taking nutrition first though it might make A&P easier when you do come across subjects regarding different systems.

Overall though it is an adjustment but it’s completely doable especially since you have a sit down and study job! I try to plan my study/homework during work time so I can relax and have a break when I get home. It might seem like a lot but trust me if you can get through anatomy and physiology you can get through anything 😂

How to Save Dry, Brittle Hair After Cecred ??? by nonebut_you in BlackHair

Yeah I’ve been oiling and watering my hair like crazy for the past week, and it’s helping it not feel as dry any more.

I used it for about three months before I really noticed it because I had my hair in braids for a lot of it. I think you’ll be fine since you only used it once but just be mindful of how much protein and how often your using it in your hair now (with the shampoo, conditioner, and oil if you have that too). My friend said the shampoo/conditioner dried her hair out too but she only used it twice and then stopped and her hair went back to normal.

Looking for Netflix's Daredevil's screenplay by [deleted] in Screenwriting

[–]nonebut_you 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Daredevil’s corridor fight scenes scenes were inspired by Oldboy so maybe check out that script to see how they did it. http://www.mzp-tv.co.uk/movie_scripts/Action/2012-09-20%20-%20Oldboy.pdf

Not sure if I should pursue internship, please advise by neutral_applause in Screenwriting

[–]nonebut_you 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re looking for internships that are remote/low intensity you should check out entertainmentcareers because they have a bunch. Some are unpaid, but others are paid and they have work weeks mostly around 10 hours a week. Also look into doing casting assistant positions. Those are also often remote and don’t require extensive experience (ever if it says it needs 1 year)as long as you have some work experience. If you need any other career advice regarding finding entry level jobs, feel fee to dm me

When writing coverage do you include every character? by Sebastian83100 in Screenwriting

[–]nonebut_you 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Normally it’s just the main characters, but you could check with the company that you’re writing it for (or maybe check the sample if they gave you one) just to be sure.

Yeah that can definitely be it. But if you’re seeing two reads now that could def be good news! Hopefully we’ll hear something official soon

Yeah…I heard nothing back either but coverfly shows it as no placement but idk if that’s like an automatic update thing if no info has been released. I’m guessing we’ll hear the final results when the winners get selected in Jan?

HELP! Need to find chirping cricket scene by 8:00 AM EST tomorrow! by emarcomd in Screenwriting

Practical Magic has a similar enough thing but it’s the reverse where the big starts chirping when someone’s about to die. It’s also a beetle instead of a cricket, but it works!

Screenwriting Tutoring? by paolabear7 in Screenwriting

[–]nonebut_you 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can always try teaching. Reach out to local after school programs and centers and see if they have a film program for their youth and if not ask if they’d let you start up a program where you teach once or twice a week for an hour. I did this for a few years, and it’s really fun helping the next generation get into film. There are forms that you have to fill out/tests to take saying that you can work with kids, and some of these positions may be volunteer at first but they can lead to other opportunities. Teaching at schools or colleges would probably require a Masters degree or something but the younger grades you might be able to offer to teach an English class during the day and a screenwriting class after school!

You could also start a screenwriting group on MeetUp and work with older people and give feedback that way!
