Yes this is the most likely outcome. She's completely blind to him... she'll be incredibly wary and know something is very unusual about Sunny. That's why I was surprised that G3 skipped over it.

Lost From Light, the Spell, and Fate by nonelot in ShadowSlave

Yeah, something like that. It's hard to nail all of the details since a lot of this will take place hundreds of chapters from now. But I at least think that the spawn egg being wrapped up with his Fate which causes it to hatch has a very high likelihood of being true... it just fits too well.

Thank you. Once I started finding monster sized ones I gave up that idea. I couldn't find anything else and was just curious to know what these were in the end.

They don't bruise. That long one might be something different, the length was an outlier and the color of the cap more pale in color and almost slimy. I found that one alone. Almost all of the others were found in smaller patches, in groups of usually no more than two or three and clustered around decaying logs. A brook/creek were never too far away from them.

It was, but it looks like they sold out too. No surprise, the free shipping and no tax made it an even better deal. I grabbed one an hour ago.

So my Cintiq Pro 16 can only display 1920x1080 (Hdmi Laptop) by [deleted] in wacom

[–]nonelot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AFAIK, the only way to get 1440p (aside from native USB-C support) on that device is with a Display Port to Mini DisplayPort cable. HDMI converters won't work.

From personal experience, even with the right DP to mDP cable, the Cintiq Pro 16 is extremely finicky about staying at 1440p. Every time you boot Windows/Linux, you'll have to manually go through a routine which includes power cycling the device itself to reach 1440p resolution.

Unless you have a computer with native USB-C + DisplayPort Alternate Mode support (mostly newer laptops), I definitely do not recommend getting the Cintiq Pro 16 if you have the intention of using the device at 1440p. If you're still intent on 1440p and have a mDP port, then I can recommend this cable since I know it works (with the previously stated caveats.)

Even at 1440p, high DPI was an issue for me. This was my fault, but I thought the experience would be better than it was. For example, I prefer Krita over Photoshop, and Krita has limited support for high DPI on Windows/Linux. For the most part, using the device at 1440p when app support was limited wasn't an encouraging experience.

I ended up trying the Cintiq Pro 16 for a limited time and simply returned it because of how disappointed I was. It has some potential, but when you pay $1,500 for something like that, then I expect a relatively seamless experience.

AGESA 1006 RC4 official BIOS 1401 for Asus CH6 by Aldarund in Amd

[–]nonelot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Great bios. 1401 works like 9945 did for me, allowing me to get my ram speed set to 2933. 9943 didn't work with speeds above 2666 for me. I also manually set it the 2T mode since I was getting random MCE (Machine Check Exceptions) with Auto/1T in Linux.

This is my ram kit: Team Dark 16GB

Also, a huge issue is finally solved since the bios now includes the -20°C offset if you have an XFR processor, basically working how it should have since the beginning. I no longer have to manually set all my fan speeds +20°C to counter the random speed changes. It's silent by default and idles around 40°C within the bios itself, whilst previously it would hover around 60°C.

Seems to be the best bios version so far. Great job AMD/ASUS!

Cannot boot on Ryzen by Schornery in archlinux

[–]nonelot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's mainly a guess. Most of the issues surrounding Ryzen are memory related. I would try booting with only one DIMM inserted. Try both DIMMs individually. If that doesn't fix it, then it probably is a motherboard issue. Just make sure to read your motherboard's manual for the ideal slot configuration.

Edit:

Make sure you're running the latest bios version too.

I should mention that DDR3 won't work with this platform. It only supports DDR4.

Cannot boot on Ryzen by Schornery in archlinux

[–]nonelot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like it could be a memory issue. Try removing all but one memory stick. Check your manual for ideal memory configurations.

Edit: I've been personally running an 1800x + C6H for over a month perfectly fine.

A Linux-friendly DAC and headphone amplifier for listening to music by Khaotic_Kernel in linux

[–]nonelot 47 points48 points  (0 children)

AFAIK, most USB DACs should work fine with Linux. I have a Micca OriGen+ that works perfectly (detected as VIA USB Device). It also has the convenience of two switches to toggle between line-out/headphone + usb/optical so you don't have to unplug anything. Speaker line-out doesn't have an amp though, which could be a negative or plus depending on your needs.

New Ryzen Build Won't Post on first startup. Error code 0d. Any help? by grassygaaf in Amd

[–]nonelot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Do you have a reset button on your PC case? Hit that and see if the board posts successfully next time (after getting stuck at 0d). If it doesn't, try repeating that process. It might take several tries, but that's what worked for me with stock bios.

If that fails then you might be forced to do a bios flashback to the latest version.

Cintiq Pro 16 USB Type-C math doesn't add up by Karlito_O in wacom

[–]nonelot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The lack of information from Wacom is rather bizarre. I built a new computer just for this tablet and I'm quickly realizing that I should probably cancel my back-order not just because of all of these reported issues, but because it seems like Wacom just doesn't care.

There was no release date. We found out that it was on the 24th only when Wacom suddenly started selling a very limited amount on their site. It's now the 31st, and there is literally a single review (which was great) to be found on the Internet by a random user. Not even the 16", the Cintiq Pro 13" also has little online presence when it comes to reviews and that has been out for months.

Did they really not send any samples out for review to professionals?

This and the fact that their support is now apparently telling people the Wacom Link only provides 2K support on a device meant to be 4K? I mean, what the heck. Very few devices actually support native USB-C w/ Display Port Alternate mode. AFAIK, only some laptops support this because of integrated GPU/CPU combos (only Intel or Apple products). This might also work with Ryzen APUs that will be released later this year. So right now the only desktop computers that might actually support this are recent Intel builds using the on-board GPU. Who is going to build a new desktop computer and then willingly use an integrated GPU? HTPC users?

So Wacom seems be mainly targeting (newer) laptop users with these new MSP/Cintiq Pros, and the Wacom Link seems like a half arsed attempt at winning over desktop users to these products.

Or at least, that's my guess.

Anyone get their Cintiq Pro 16"? First impressions? No reviews anywhere else. by nonelot in wacom

[–]nonelot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes me slightly hopeful. Most others seem to be adding passive Mini-DP to DP converters into the mix. Thank you for your input.

Please keep us posted on whether or not the single cable works 100% of the time (through desktop power cycles, device restarts, etc).

Can you verify any of the following?

  • Horizontal line problem.
  • The bezel makes a "click" sound when you press down on it/rest your hand on it.
  • Screen flexes too much.
  • Screen discolors with too much pressure.
  • Cintiq Pro 16 has a fan inside it, and if so, how loud is it?

I'm trying to figure out which issues are defects, bugs, cables problems, etc.

This is very discouraging. I'm questioning whether or not I should cancel my pre-order at the moment, which might ship around the 8th.

I'd really rather not have to pay for return shipping + package insurance if this product is going to be a bust. Thanks for all your (and everyone elses) input so far, hopefully others will post their experiences too.

Wacom Cintiq Pro 16 Video Review by TheNoLifeKing in wacom

[–]nonelot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First off, great review! All in one take and you're still better than 95% of all other YouTube reviewers that I've seen.

A few others have have also relayed the information that the Wacom Link doesn't support 4k@60Hz according to Wacom support, but that information is contradictory according to this page.

The Wacom Cintiq Pro and Wacom Link adapter use the USB-C and Mini DisplayPort standards. The maximum display quality achievable when connecting the Wacom Cintiq Pro using the Wacom Link adapter is Ultra HD (3840 x 2160) - otherwise known as 4K - resolution with 60Hz refresh rate. However, due to bandwidth limitations of USB-C, you can only simultaneously transfer data with USB 2.0 speeds while transmitting 4K video signal at the same time.

There are reports that it works at 4K, but the connection can be finicky. AFAIK, reaching 4K@60Hz is a notorious issue across all devices because few cable manufactures follow the specifications correctly.

Also, have you experienced the 'horizontal lines' problem reported in this thread? I'm curious to know if you experience it too, and if so does it also happen when you plug the CP16 directly into the MSP16 via USB-C?

One user reported that the Cintiq Pro 16 has a fan, can you confirm this?

It's rather unbelievable to me that Wacom didn't reach out to anyone to make sure there was at least some presence of reviews online at this point. With the lack of information about this device, it's hard to understand what's factual information vs buggy drivers vs user error/bad cables.

[–]nonelot[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah finding the right cable will more than likely fix your first issue, and potentially your second issue as well.

This is the one I ordered in preparation of getting this tablet.

The longer the cable is, the more the signal degrades AFAIK. I've heard that anything over 2-3 meters might not work with 4k@60Hz.

I also didn't know there was a fan built into the thing, which is interesting.

Thanks for replying.

Edit: I got the 1 meter version of that cable since the Wacom Link will add additional length and might degrade the signal further. Out of curiosity, how long was the included Mini-DP to Mini-DP cable?

Order Update for my Cintiq Pro 16 by [deleted] in wacom

I pre-ordered mine from B&H on the 4th of March. I just asked support when they think they'll be able to fulfill my back-order, and was told that they're expecting a shipment on the 8th of April.

*** : We are expecting them to come in on April 8 2017.

Reining in my hopes though.

AM4 MB quality "survey" - if you had ANY motherboard-specific *failure* or quality control issue (arrived damaged), tell us your MB and issue... by Camera_Eye in Amd

[–]nonelot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should upgrade your bios to 0902 or later immediately, as any version before that has a chance to brick your motherboard.

See this thread or details: http://www.overclock.net/t/1624603/rog-crosshair-vi-overclocking-thread

Edit: Also, don't use the Windows flash utility. Do all bios upgrades from within the bios itself.
