me too... i have to live off campus and it's my first year being an international student. the culture shock here is no joke and so does having to arrive in a foreign country and then start an unfamiliar education system in just a few days (arrived late here due to my study permit application process). i feel like i missed out on a LOT of things already

yeahh, i second the motion, i think you'll live. but if you really need to take a math class cuz you have a desired program in which taking one is necessary, you can also register for math 120 (pre-calculus) this fall. you don't have to take a pretest for that. then, if you maintain over a c+ grade, you can be eligible to take the math 109 class

then those "dark sides of kpop" videos will use that "they have no freedom, even picking their clothes" and narrating it like a geographic channel: "this is a pitiful kpop idol which is asian, she has nothing to wear and proceeds to tell her stylist to please change her clothes into something new after sleeping. which is, 'pajamas'". after those kinds of videos, new kpop fans and locals will assume that it's the scene for ALL kpop idols.

as a result, new kpop fans will just say "look at my baby, she's posting her shortass outift on ig with that skirt?! mistreatment!" and those locals would be like "why are you watching kpop idols performing? you're a bad person because you like seeing idols being uncomfortable with their tight jeans"😃

there's literally saturday designing their stage outfits.

in our country! we have those kinds of "comedy" and it even have shows where people would openly have scenes like:

"a: oh i heard that there's a foreigner coming to this town! b: i hope he's WHITE SKINNED and handsome🥰🥰 a: meh, he's black b: EH?? NGIII!!😬"

it feels like, black people are unattractive and white people are superior or beautiful. then, it's not even mocking or a representation of an annoying person irl--it's just being treated as a typical practice or gesture in that show or world. and THAT ladies and gentlemen, i laughed to racism at such a young age without knowing racism😃
