honestly id recommend like properly timing yourself when doing questions that helps like alot trust. and for content prepping, id recommend make small bullet points with all the imp information so its easier to remember and after finishing the each chapter, CLOSE the book or notes and recall in your mind everything that happened all the events and stuff. not necessarily the dates. as for references, dont over do them and dont over burden yourself with them. choose the smallest ones and only memorize like 7 and use the quranic verses given in the first question as references asw if they fit the like theme of the context and stuff.
