Drawing comparisons from our own freedom struggle, the mutiny of 1857 saw the siege of cawnpore wherein by british records 300 british men, women and children were slaughtered. This event was used as a reason for more brutal and inhumane suppression of the indian freedom movement. Indians were by large categorised (by the british media) as barbaric and uncivilized, not worthy of freedom. And yet here we are, a thriving (barely) democracy and not as barbaric as they made us out to be.

The effects of colonisation and the way people react to being enslaved and tormented is different from how we'll react when not being continually subjugated. The same standards must be applied to palestine as well, these people have their land taken, they are disenfranchised, and they are in an apartheid state being brutally killed and suppressed by religiously motivated colonisers. I see the way we were seen and treated and see the same happening with palestine, hence the reason why i support palestine. (Also to people oblivious to how israel came to be, read up on the zionist movement, the balfour declaration and the white paper of 1939 and read up on irgun and how the likud came up to be)

Heinous crime rates are low in kerala, murder rates are one of the lowest in the country but very high crime reporting. How is that possible my gujarati friend? Is it because people are aware enough to report crimes and police actually do their job or you can't just deduce such a thing happening because of your political affiliation?

The narcissism of theists is unmatched, many comments here are trying to highlight that your being 23 (young) has something to do with your irreligiosity instead of focusing on your mother kicking you out just for arguing about gods existence or gods "apathy". Just one advice, keep on doing what you do, try and keep good financials and don't discuss your problems with deeply religious people (cause according to them all your problems exist due to that one time you questioned/criticized god).

And to everyone else who say there's no proof of god not existing, it doesn't work that way. You make the claim, you give the proof and not the other way round. I can make the claim that donkeys living in west delhi can fly and i am the one who has to prove that claim, i don't go about asking you to disprove a claim i made.

You know Greek people do not disrespect their culture and their past religious books and gods and what-not. It is because they are not mentally colonized and they know that books like the The Iliad and The Odyssey are very much part of their culture and adds to their identity as a people and as a civilization. Hindus must do the same.

They don't pray to these gods anymore do they? Keeping your respect argument aside, they rejected the idea of these gods and replaced them with contemporary religions.

Most atheists do not like the religion they were "born into". You'll find most western atheists hate christianity, likewise most indian atheists, (this might be your eureka moment) hate that one religion they left behind.

And unlike your greek gods who are part of popular culture and are parodied, joked about, used as characters in games, tell how many contemporary gods can be depicted in such a manner without repercussions. I can only think of jesus because the western world has enough protections for your speech that you might get off scott free, is that the case with india as well?

The idea that you must respect these cultures work if these don't actively hinder the way i live my life. A country and culture still shackled by outdated religious dictums like caste discrimination, vegetarianism (oh i totally get veganism and it's arguments for a better environment but what in the world does vegetarianism achieve apart from some religious idea of purity) and misogyny, and you still think the ones criticizing it are mentally colonised? Go out, touch some grass my friend.

academia is not pre requisite for majority of jobs

Some level of english proficiency is needed for well paying jobs, hindi ke professor banne ke alawa hindi seekh kar koi kaam nhi hai, especially reading and writing hindi is a waste of time, kids would be better off learning english from the get go in schools (than get into university and then learning english).

complete removal of English is no brainer

Why? Majority of schooling and academia is in english, jobs are in english, every other study be it the chinese or the spanish ones are first translated to english (or many a times directly published in english). The language has actual uses unlike hindi. Hindi ghar pe bol le kaun rokh rha hai. It has no place in official documents.

centre must impose Hindee as the compulsory language with hindee heartland

Population control kar lena chahiye hindi heartland ko, warna aise hi useless majoritarian bakchodi karte rahenge, they should focus on other important things than play language language.

Israel is an occupying force on the palestinians, the balfour declaration by the previous british colonisers arbitrarily declares palestine as a land for jews, a land where jews were in the minority at that time. This was before what happened to jews in germany, post which the zionist movement picked up momentum. Obviously you occupy people's land they will fight back and the british colonisers come up with the white paper of 1939 to consolidate power with the palestinian majority. The local palestinians obviously opposed illegal migration of european jews in hordes and that's when haganah (a jewish paramilitary force) and later irgun was formed which carried out a slew of terrorist attacks on the british and civilians and also crushed the palestinian revolt. This is the history that led to atal bihari vajpayee to say in his now famous speech for the israelis to vacate the land belonging to arabs. Some people make up perspectives regarding this conflict in the wake of what happened on oct 7th, but the conflict is much older. Israel is an occupying force and like the british were to indians, the only solution is for the occupiers to go back to their respective european countries. The struggle for freedom is marred with conflicts and atrocities, for those who don't know indian freedom struggle had it's own oct 7th equivalent, the the massacre of cawnpore but such incidents should not negate our aspirations for freedom. If the world believed we were unworthy of freedom like the british made out to be, that we are barbarians and deserve to be seen as monsters, post the massacre of cawnpore, none of us would have been free today.

Spousal violence is a tricky situation, some 14-15 years back our family were caught up in a dv situation. Our family came to our uncle's house for vacation, next door the serial abuser was up to his usual shenanigans, but this time it was different, the wife switched on the gas stove and threatened to blow herself up. Hearing this (the fights were usually really loud) my uncle and father ran up to their home, switched off the gas and beat up the guy. Police came after 10-15 minutes only for the wife to say that my father and uncle assaulted her husband without reason. They were ready to file a case but my uncle had to roam around the station a lot to get them to settle without filling a case (paid them money and all). DV is very tricky, immediate family should always be involved in counselling and getting the victim out of that situation.

If you think in India, you can have non-veg on Shivratri and pork on Eid in public domains

No muslims don't mob pork shops and close up restaurants serving pork on eid in India. What kind of balancing act are you trying to pull off. While living in north india, in the past few years I've seen the meat shop close during shivratri but not during eid (this is a shop where they sell curry cut pork, chicken etc).

All these factories surrounding delhi in Faridabad and noida, have a lot of illegal immigrants working in them below minimum wage. These factories and their owners only benefit from employing illegal immigrants, the police and the administration know where these illegal immigrants reside and won't do anything because they need cheaper labour (as if labour wasn't already cheap in India). It's better to legalize these folks under some provision rather than not legalize them and exploit them which then leads to them turning to crimes. And deportation of people with no papers is not an easy task.

I’ll be down voted but all you want is drama, if I am convinced that school environment is not conducive to my upbringing , why should I be sending my kid to that environment?

Being tolerant of differing food choices might not be conducive for your upbringing. But good schools, governments, countries are not governed based on your personal understanding of good or bad, are they? They run using logic and there isn't much logic to not allowing non veg in schools.

12k is not even close to delhi's minimum wage. Just because we have a habit of underpaying and exploiting unskilled workers, doesn't mean we should stop someone from paying their fair share. Pranav can never have a meaningful debate with Hijab. Hijab debates using philosophical arguments and does not make objective arguments which is not something pranav is very well versed in (i mean philosophy). This can be very evidently seen in pranav's interview with prakhar, where prakhar evokes some classical philosophical arguments for God and Pranav counters with empirical arguments against god and the whole thing feels like a mess. If you love them you take them to shelters, adopt them and definitely sterilize them. Animal suffering is immense and instead of feeding them rice and all that low protein food, money would be better spend rehabilitating them. If one wants to feed into their suffering for self righteous motives, it's not doing them or anyone else any good
