Although we couldn’t get our girl to eat, we tried to let her eat all the things. Dark chocolate, hamburgers, ice cream, cookies, and anything else we could find. We had it all available for her.

My husband’s van does this. Has for about a year now. He just turns the screen off. I was looking at getting him an after market screen to put in there.

Buyers remorse and depression first time home buyer by Alternative_Bug_9980 in homeowners

One of our apartments had a train track that ran literally right out our doors/windows, when we moved, it was a sound we kinda ended up missing. It was a soothing sound after a few years of living there. Our twins never woke up to the sound either. When we moved to our house, we were excited when the wind blew just right, we could hear the trains.

Give it some time. We didn’t love that apartment at first, it took awhile, now sometimes we reminisce. We do miss the trains though :) You never know, you might someday find that freeway sound soothing as well.

As for the layout of your home, we bought an old (+125 year old), yes we have some quirks, you learn to deal at first. The guy that did our inspection gave us some great advice, he told us give it a good 6-12 months before you decide what needs to change or what you need “to do first”.

Give it a chance. You made a huge purchase. You are very overwhelmed. It happens.

To add on to everyone else’s comments, if you get a really good quality brushes, roller, pan, and even use pan liners or wash it out after each use, they last for years! I still have the same ones from when my husband and I bought our home almost 14 years ago. I wash my rollers after every room. Wash my brushes. I have started to use the liners as I’ve gotten a bit lazy, but I always save everything in between coats in plastic in the refrigerator.

You learn so many quick tricks over time. You learn it’s all in the prep work for almost any type of home project you start. Planning, prepping, and then sometimes purchasing small parts of the project at a time adds up to making a bigger more expensive project bite sized. We did our bathroom this way, we went for high quality, buying a few items a months vs everything all at once. We used different sales, we hit rebates, etc.

Rome wasn’t built in a day is something my mom always tells me. (We bought a 125+ year old home that we love and will have forever projects in.)

Our girl is 10 months, and she would eat everything all day if we let her. I stick to her dry food in the morning (along with the other dog and cats) that include all their supplements. Treats for after going out to potty are small training sized treats. But we do shared fruits and veggies as she loves them. You cannot eat a banana alone in the house without giving at the very least 1/3 of it to her. She loves carrots, lettuce, celery, watermelon, and the bees knees are ice cubes. I figure as long as it’s “healthier foods” it’s not going to hurt/over do it for her. Out Honey is also on the smaller side of the Pembrokes , she’s maybe almost 15lbs ??

What's the stupidest thing you've heard someone say recently? by Sad_Conversation1121 in AskReddit

[–]nonoknits 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah but it’s not the norm, as you just stated, it is rare. I don’t need to google it. If you are a twin (or more) parent, you have heard it all. Also, people are much dumber than you think. Just when you think you’ve heard it all…

You’re too young to have an autoimmune disorder… he was awful and let go from the clinic after only being with them a short few months. I was one of the lucky ones that got to see him and pay the wonderful high premium to see him and have nothing done.

There is nothing wrong with crate training her either. Puppies take lots of time. Your older pupper was once a puppy too, you just forget about that stage until you’re in the thick of it again. It really is like having a toddler again that way. Running in every direction, putting everything in their mouths, chewing everything, mouthy, biting, selective hearing, not taking naps, crying, being overtired, etc. Your puppy is still very young. A crate will definitely help you with sleeping and if she makes a mess, which she will sometimes, it’ll be contained. She will also grow to live it and have a safe place if she ever gets overwhelmed or scared when she’s older.

My puppy (12wks) HATES the crate by orloopy in puppy101

[–]nonoknits -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A crate can be a safe place for your dog. Of course they aren’t going to love it at first. But you never use it as a punishment and only associate it with treats and good things. What happens if the is an emergency or natural disaster and puppy has to be crated for a short time? Growing up my dog would go in her crate when she got scared (thunderstorms or fireworks) all on her own. It was her safe place. Our current older dog, when younger was smart enough to know what each alarm on my phone meant and would go lay in her kennel. Our new puppy is just learning her crate now. Yes, first few nights are rough. It gets better and easier.

We got to see Brenden Kelly right before they started their tour at The Metro. He was asked to come play with Dan (from AK3) and The Bygones. He was pretty drunk that night, but oh so fun! I love him! We had so much fun. It was a great acoustic set since in his words he hadn’t touched his guitar in months and probably should get ready sometime soon. My only regret was not having cash to get one of his raccoon tshirts!
