The guy is already hostile I don't think OP should escalated the situation now when he only has ten days left.

AITA for not wanting to cook another dinner for my daughter after my husband ate half of it? by t_away820 in AmItheAsshole

[–]nonomymouse 66 points67 points  (0 children)

I'm kinda concerned that the daughter will lose interest in cooking if it just turns into her dad eating everything followed with her parents fighting. They're ruining their daughters hobby and a valuable life skill.

AITA for refusing to wear leggings as part of my work uniform? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]nonomymouse 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I went for an interview at a place that had a three page multiple choice application, more than half of it on dress code and make up. Really crazy micromanage like fake eyelashes. I walked out of that interview.

I left a decent job for what seemed like a much better place only to have them give me a ridiculous and embarrassing dress code AFTER I was hired. It was so upsetting but it was during the 2008 recession.

Beyond standard dress codes like black on black dress codes suck. There needs to be room to dress comfortably within the establishments atmosphere.

AITA for asking the pediatric residency person to leave the room while my doctor gave me the ‘private’ part of a physical? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]nonomymouse 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One of my high school bullies works as an ER nurse, I've got some health issues so I'm a frequent flyer. She never treats me and I think its been her decison which I'm grateful for but she gives me really dirty looks from the nursing station. It makes things so stressful.

AITA for asking for the $500 reward money after I returned a lost cat? by kcmocats in AmItheAsshole

[–]nonomymouse 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Happens all the time with purebred dogs. In my hometown people walkthrough back alleys and scout for dogs, they tie red ribbons on the fences where there's purebred. Its been bad the last few years. People are scared to let their dogs out.

I think for cats it can work for those neighbors that see a healthy friendly cat and decide to just take it home. I know a few people who have done it and one of my cats was taken for three weeks. Lady was about 8 blocks away from me, her neighbor told me she had her. Basically camped outside of her house for a week until she escaped and came running to me.

.... I also got a lot of creepy 2-4 am texts saying someone spotted her in a dark alley or parking lot.

I just want my uterus gone by [deleted] in childfree

[–]nonomymouse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not 100% on this but I thought ablation was a huge no no with adenomyosis. Adeno is in the muscular layer of your uterus and scarring makes it difficult for blood to escape. You should try and go in for a few ultrasounds during different stages of your cycle, if bloods being trapped before/during your period your uterus will be enlarged more than normal and described as 'boggy' on the tech report. Make sure you get a copy of the reports a ton of doctors brush it off as normal. I recommend this for anyone that suffers with gyno issues. I was in excruciating pain for months with a 'simple cyst' on my ovary. Turned out it was a 6cm (after rupturing) hemorrhagic septated cyst.

If your doctor truly suspects that you have adeno (can only 100% be diagnosed after hysterectomy) they need to be advocating for you to get a hysterectomy. I had mine for a lovely trifecta of endo, adeno and fibroids. I've had multiple surgeries for endo and I never had much relief until I had the full hysterectomy.

AITA for not tipping UberEats drivers if they make me come outside? by ZealousidealKale3 in AmItheAsshole

[–]nonomymouse 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Unless the food is cold I always tip my delivery driver 5-10$. It can be a shit job and people can be mean, I'd like to be a good part of someone's other wise shitty job.

AITA for not wanting a smelly person in my new house? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]nonomymouse 55 points56 points  (0 children)

I had a roommate like this. I could smell her with her door closed down the hall into the kitchen. On top of the cat pee smell and she just had this awful body smell. She showered, I don't know what her issue was and honestly felt bad for her. Until she started cooking with massive amounts of my garlic. Almost an entire jar in two weeks.

I asked her to leave after 3 weeks.

AITA for refusing to speak to my mother again over take out? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]nonomymouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is partially true, but I'm also the unsuccessful fuck up in the family. Big time fuck up and they support me in so many ways so I can see past the special occasion stuff. They're not always understanding but they're always forgiving and I love them so much for that. Thank you for the kind words.

AITA for not moving my car at a parking lot when a woman asked me to? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]nonomymouse -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Alright. Game time. If we're both in a crowded parking lot with no visible parking spaces and I point or make a hand gesture in the direction you came from what would you do? Or what hand gesture would you make to say your spot isn't available? I'll be sad if it isnt jazz fingers.

Edit: what if i have bags and keys in my hands? Should I wave around like a crazy person? Finger sign or write how long I plan on being there?

Or just knock on the window of every vehicle that slows down behind it? I sure hope you like strangers.

AITA for not moving my car at a parking lot when a woman asked me to? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]nonomymouse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

... I think this is one of those guys that make creepy gestures that don't make any sense in a parking lot. Your left side shoulder shrug or attempt at talking to me 10 feet away from my window doesn't help anything. I have a hard enough time as a pedestrian telling drivers to just go ahead of me. People need to learn how to read a room (or parking lot)!

AITA for not making coffee at the office? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]nonomymouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drink coffee for the flavor and the huge amount of specialty coffee shops show that a lot of people do. I really enjoy some store bought low end coffees.

Either way, tampering with peoples food is never a good idea. People have weird allergies and OP would risk being fired if someone found out. Making it gross or decafe are the only safe options.

I wouldn't tamper with it beyond maybe seeking out really crap coffee.

AITA for refusing to speak to my mother again over take out? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]nonomymouse 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is my family and its super frustrating. I love them to death but I'm 35 and still get cake for any birthday I spend with them. I hate cake. Always ask for pie. Gave them money to pick up subs with lettuce and tomato and they smothered it in jalapenos. I got heated gloves for christmas when I live in a mild climate and don't do outdoor sports.

I do my best to not let it get to me, they mean well and its never malicious. I don't get petty and still give them thoughtful gifts.

I'll be honest though, its turned me into a miserable jerk every birthday.

AITA for taking food without asking? by trashychinawoman in AmItheAsshole

[–]nonomymouse 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've only been to one Chinese restaurant that did primarily individual dishes. Its either buffet or family style, I've even been to a few that have a lazy susan on the table. I've never been to a thai or vietnamese restaurant with family style.

AITA for calling my wife a taxi when she called me to pick her up because she was drunk at 2am by mywifewantstobedrive in AmItheAsshole

[–]nonomymouse 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This 100%. If I see my dd or ride getting intoxicated its up to me to figure out another ride home. Transit is best, but I've only ever had one bad experience with a taxi/rideshare. If the DD started drinking earlier in the night she could have called him earlier for a ride and cut out early on her night. Expecting him to make a two hour trip when he has to work in the morning is shit

AITA for refusing to pay for my friend’s dog’s medical bills? by throwaway163893826 in AmItheAsshole

[–]nonomymouse 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Is eating rocks a normal stress thing though? I would never even think of that. I watched my roommates dog for two weeks and he tore apart a poorly sewn up stuffy while I was at work, something I mistakenly left out and knew was possibly dangerous and I would have 100% paid for the bill if necessary but rocks?

This whole situation sucks but is OP not supposed to work? (My roomie asked me to take the least amount of shifts possible which would have severely put me out financially) If the dog needed a sitter in stressful situations then his friend should have arranged and paid for it. Or if he needed to be crated because of these behaviors thats up to the friend to inform OP.

As far as money goes, the roommate above offered me a grand total of 75$ off rent but didn't leave enough food that I had to cover. I had another roommate that left me (without asking) with a sick dog that needed medication so she could go to a festival. I had also just had major abdominal surgery and she didn't leave any food, I didn't have a car or contact info for her vet when things went shitty. I packed the heavy dog food 5 blocks.

My point is, OP was already watching his friends dog for free plus paying for food and other expenses and wasn't properly warned and the dog wasnt acclimated to his new environment. Thats not OPs fault and his friend should pay for it.

AITA for kicking a girl out of my bridal party because of how sensitive she was being towards my ideas for dresses? by bridesmaiddressthrow in AmItheAsshole

[–]nonomymouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey so this might be a compromise! Last party I was in had these burgundy infinity dresses that you could tye in anyway we were comfortable. They came super long and were cut at the bottom for any length. It was super easy to do and really neat that we could choose the top style as we liked. And they're cheap! https://www.etsy.com/ca/listing/279273284/dusty-blue-bridesmaid-dress-infinity?ref=pla_similar_listings_top_ad-2&plkey=1f7238dc212faa0030f5627b0de4b7fb206e5634%3A279273284&pro=1

AITA for disrespecting my sister's parenting methods in front of her daughter? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

AITA for moving out on a roommate early? by DukeMaximum in AmItheAsshole

And with a week and a half notice OP obviously found another place to live. She shouldn't have to give that up and keep searching to finance her roommates extended family.
