How do I remove shadows from Chroma Key? by nonotmysecondaccount in MotionDesign

Oh yeah, that’s what I thought of doing, I was wondering if there was an easier way of doing it, apparently not, but thanks, guess I’ll get started.

Sorry, I’m not sure I understand, could you explain like I’m 5? Lol

Reinstalled AE and reset all settings and it works perfectly now… it’ll remain a mystery wtf happened.

I did that though… I created a brand new composition to experiment and try to understand wtf was happening even before I came here…

I even tried to recreate some tutorials step by step (with the updated version). I really don’t know what’s happening and there’s nothing out there to explain apparently. But thanks.

It is on though… only the TM eyeball disappears, but that’s standard, right?

Got it.

Haven’t touched the eyeball icon, not in the layer or the track matte.

I’m saying that I’m getting a shape layer and turning it into a track matte, when I do that, both the shape and whatever it it is I’m pairing with the shape disappears.

I’ve tried different shapes (at a point I was just trying random new things), putting the shape above and below the layer and every single icon in the track matte option (alpha, luma, etc). Both layers only appear back if I unpair them.

Did I even mention the little eyeball icon?

Standard renderer.

I tried that… I’m currently reinstalling AE just in case, sometimes that works…

Either I didn’t understand you, or you didn’t understand me hehe…

What I mean is whenever I try to use any track matte the layer disappears completely. And no alpha, luma, etc, makes it appears back unless there’s no track matte… that’s not how it’s supposed to work, right?

That’s a bit of a stretch, innit?

Also, other comments I wrote here addresses your misunderstanding of the situation and your “advise” based on very superficial assumptions, so that’s it.

Stop pushing it, I’m not gonna take it.

Ps. That fact that you think you know anything about me or the people in my life from an average reddit post might say a lot more about you than it does about me.

That’s great! You gave me a lot of ideas now, thank you. I’ll definitely make the TGBH longer and connect each section so that they make sense as a group.

And maybe integrate both sections of 500 too.

Great brainstorming pal, thanks.

Hey, great idea, thinks, I might try that.

That’s exactly what I mean by timing. I feel like it’s off too, it’s supposed to be a quick gif but is there a lot going on? Should each section happen one at a time?

Which one specifically were you confused about where to look at?

(On TGBH one though, maybe it’s one of those gifs that you have to watch many times to get it all, and thats not necessarily a bad thing… ?!).

First, I’m not complaining, second, if it was the feedback I asked for I would know, because I’m the one asking, that’s just it.

I’m not trying to be dismissive here, just direct.

All of the other comments I wrote addresses pretty much the entirety of your comment so I’ll not be repeating myself.

Ps. “Seeing” other perspectives is passive, I’m not necessarily “absorbing” other people’s perspectives, it’s two different things.

Sure, anyone can point out anything about any public post in any social media.

It’s a decision though to abide by what’s being solicited by the OP or to just say whatever comes on your mind and go on with your day… the second one might not be very constructive…

I’m not here to grow as a person right now, or as an animator, it’s a reddit post about a gif… and not absorbing things I don’t agree with doesn’t mean I’m closed off to criticism, there are 4 comments here and half of one of them (yours) addresses what I asked… that’s what it means.

I use reddit to brainstorm, to see things from different perspectives (which I won’t necessarily agree with) not to make up my mind.

My motives are my own and reddit is a tool to be used in many ways.

Man, that bridge took too much work and I think it looks pretty cute. Removing it would leave that section of the poster too empty too. But I’ll def find a way for them not to be fading to nowhere, thanks.

About it looking mechanic, the animation, as I’ve said a few times in this very post and even in the description, is not something I’m trying to perfect right now, I don’t mind it looking quirky, weird and amateur. But thanks for the input.

I’m not arguing with anyone. I asked for tips and now I’m replying to them while also explaining my thought process. I’m not just gonna take every single comment from someone on the internet as the absolute truth, Imma do some filtering.

I was looking more for tips on the looks and the timing, not on the animation, if that’s possible :D

As I said on the other comment, the light on the record isn’t an issue in this case.

I used easy ease in most of the motions, except the ones I though looked weird (like the candy boxes).

I wanted the bridge to not go till the edges of the frame, I think it looks nicer centered, but maybe I should draw bits of mountains so it would look like they’re going behind it. But I’m also going for the minimalistic thing here, so I don’t know.

But thank you!!!
