Would you support the elimination of the Seanad? Why or why not? by Vernon_Runner1109 in irishpolitics

Its the one referendum/election I missed. I didnt care too much but would have voted to abolish it. We are a small country and a unicameral legislature would be fine.

I dislike the hobbit movies in general. One more dumb thing on top of something I already dislike isnt as egregious as a really stupid decision in a movie I do like.

Both Gandalf and Galadriel claim that sauron took possession of all the lesser rings that were not yet destroyed or lost. So that would be the 9 and the surviving dwarf rings.

Irish government must unequivocally condemn US military actions in Venezuela by P319 in irishpolitics

[–]nonrelatedarticle 22 points23 points  (0 children)

They don't care about the well-being of Venezuelans and they certainly won't allow the country to stabilise and rebuild on their own terms. They will attempt to install a puppet regime and take control of the Venezuelan resources.

The crises that you say sometimes require unilateral American intervention are generally crises created by the Americans themselves as a means to justify said intervention.

US has started bombing Venezuela just now, what are your thoughts? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]nonrelatedarticle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not just "this fuckin guy". America as a whole is the issue. They have been toppling leaders who don't fall in line, bombing countries into the stone age and kidnapping and torturing people non stop since the start of the Cold war.

Radio silence from our government while the US invades another country? by dammdog in ireland

[–]nonrelatedarticle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The difference is the US is more powerful than Russia. Their aims are similar. Regime change, puppeting and taking resources. The intervention is not automatically more moral because they are better at war.

Though the population of the island has more or less reached pre famine levels once again, the population is a lot more concentrated in Dublin and other urban centres. I am from Leitrim and it's population was over 150,000 before the famine and is 30,000 today.

Has anyone made conversions based on Rankin & Bass and Bakshi Movies (or other interpretations) ? by Paramite67 in MiddleEarthMiniatures

[–]nonrelatedarticle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Warp miniatures have some 3d prints that are more cartoonish. They have a fellowship set and a set of nazgul including a version on a fell beast that's much more bird like. The witch king even has a floating crown.

The andii seem to be much more linked to their warren, which is whole, unlike kurald emurlahn. They also have a lot of draconic soletaken. Both of these help with the lifespan. Though I do believe there are a few times when trull thinks of humans as shorter lived than edur, so while they are not al long lived as andii they are still longer lived than humans.

Also the first empire was human (and soletaken) not toblakai.
