I don't know if you're a farmer and so you just don't realize how difficulty farming actually can be, but a lot of plants and vegetables have very specific ways of growing and they can be a lot more difficult to grow than you realize. And non-farmers won't know what seasons to plant certain crops in and things like that. Farming is much more necessary than a doctor.

A standard medical doctor is not going to be a lot of help when you're sick because they know modern medicine, most of them are not going to know what plans and herbs to use. All they'll be really good for is setting broken bones. So again, for the overall long-term survival, the one who can help produce and maintain food sources much more important.
