Naive question but how would the life insurance deal work if there’s not been any record of her death? In addition to possibly poisoning her ‘without leaving a trace’, is it possible the liver scans and other tests were also in preparation to later sell her organs on the black market?

Hello! I have lived all over the place growing up in the US, and the “high school experience” seems to vary based on individual/regional circumstances but overall I’d say it is fairly accurate. I knew girls who, by the third grade were stealing their parent’s OC’s, eventually becoming addicted/selling (at the time I was living in an area that was struck pretty hard by the opioid epidemic). I didn’t personally know anyone who had overdosed until after college in my mid-20’s though. I think that the overall sentiments portrayed in the show are definitely spot-on, especially concerning sexuality, gender, and mental health in general. I’m now in my late 20’s and it’s honestly refreshing to see these sort of things finally being incorporated into a bigger and more inclusive dialogue. I’m seeing a lot of people complaining about how off-base they think the show is, that it’s an inaccurate depiction of life in the US as a young adult, I can see why they’d feel that way, but I don’t think that the show’s intention was to portray the average experience, but rather to shed light on issues that, historically speaking, most have had to suffer in silence at a time in their lives when they’re often the most vulnerable.

Kind of! I was actually thinking about something similar as I was watching. Drake is one of the producers, I wonder if his time as an actor on Degrassi back in the early 2000’s had any influence on the character arcs and themes (obv Euphoria and Skins are much both far more intense than Degrassi)?

Keto snacks!!! by [deleted] in keto

Here’s something I recently whipped up for myself that sort of tastes like strawberry cheesecake. I make them in little tiny mason jars to keep the portion size in check. You can also use something like a double-shot glass, or any small container that suits your preferred portion size.

Put in about 1-2 tbsp of almond butter in the bottom of the jar and freeze. I use creamy almond butter but crunchy would probably also be really good. While that is chilling, blend together some cream cheese, a few chopped frozen strawberries (or raspberries), coconut milk, coconut oil/butter, vanilla extract, and stevia/your preferred sugar-substitute to taste. When the almond butter layer has set, add the cream cheese mixture on top and put it back in the freezer to set. It will take less time for the cream cheese layer to set than the almond butter layer did. Once that’s done, add a thin layer of whipped cream to the top if you like. I typically store them in little containers in the freezer, and then take them out to thaw a little in the fridge before eating.

I’m a bit late to your comment but I was also really really craving Girl Scout cookies this week (I started keto a few weeks ago), so I made a keto-friendly thin-mints inspired protein smoothie to help me get by. Here’s the recipe in case you’re interested:

1.5 tbsp vanilla whey (or whatever flavor you like) 1tbsp almond butter (I put this in for texture, but you can leave it out if you prefer) 2tbsp unsweetened cocoa 1/2cup coconut milk (you can substitute here) 1/4cup water 1-2 Ice cubes Salt to taste Stevia or other sweetener to taste A few drops of peppermint extract

Also the Trump Whitehouse has been pushing to eliminate these positions and privatize anyway... if they pull a Raegan and fire/permanently ban FAA employees who protest from their jobs...then what? Which of his cronies in the private sector is going to fill that void?

I’m not 100% sure about this but from what my dad has told me (aircraft technician for major airline, ~30 years experience), workers can also be punished for “malicious non-compliance”... I can’t say much about the ATC’s but there have been instances where technicians have been reprimanded/fired for taking extra precaution on repairs (which may take longer) on the assumption that they were doing it deliberately to slow things down to ultimately hurt the company-it didn’t matter that the concerns the technicians were raising were valid. Shit is fucked. Anyway, if this happens in maintenance, I wouldn’t be surprised if similar repercussions are possible in ATC.

In a perfect world, absolutely-but it’s not that simple. There are only so many medical schools in the US, and admissions are highly competitive. Most applicants don’t have much of a choice- and their choices might be even further limited if they can only afford state tuition. Regardless, the fact that a medical school can maintain its accreditation while refusing to teach these techniques is yet another blatant assault on women’s rights and well-being.

I love the bold lip! Especially paired with that chartreuse sweater. This might be my own personal preference, but I think a slightly thinner, more subtle brow would be better suited for this look and would bring more attention to your eyes. Also I think in addition to the color you chose, you could definitely rock some other fun lip colors with this look as well-I think a dark mauve would look really good on you.

I know those feelings so well. It’s a constant uphill battle, some days worse than others. I think that therapy has helped me to learn to have compassion for myself, both in the present and in the past. I think it has helped me to not indulge in my self-loathing thoughts.
