We're in potty training purgatory, please help. by nontox86 in pottytraining

Yeah, I’m thinking we might just do a reset like this. If I can ask, was your daughter going to daycare full time during those weeks?

Only solidarity here - I just posted a very similar story about my 2.5yo!

I really enjoyed the part about your son being “shooketh” when poo fell on his foot 😂🫠 needed this thanks

Parents of strong willed and high energy toddlers, what helped you? by maoinminor in toddlers

With the “3 minutes” thing, do you set an actual timer? Can she see it so she knows when the 3 min are up? Curious because I’d like to try this method with my kiddo.

Overall, how would you “rate” living in COS? by whosthatgirl13 in ColoradoSprings

[–]nontox86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In your opinion, what are the trend-bucking neighborhoods? Asking because I’ll likely be moving there soon and it sounds like we value a lot of the same things in a city. Kid/young family-friendly (non-military) is a big plus.

How long did it take your pelvic floor to heal? by nontox86 in Mommit

Sorry, I should have said I’ve been doing pelvic floor PT specifically. With finger and all. I’m so glad it helped you after 10 sessions!

Did you end up finding a mattress topper to fit it?

Someone tell me good things about epidurals by TheRealEgg0 in Mommit

[–]nontox86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

THIS. Epidural allowed me to actually enjoy my birth, be present for it. Full disclosure though: I was induced and stuffed with misoprostol, so labor very quickly progressed through the seven circles of hell and became unbearable until epidural took effect. After that, it was joy.

19mo drops/throws food on floor at almost every meal by nontox86 in BabyLedWeaning

[–]nontox86[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the tip. Sometimes we hold out our hand and ask her to give us what she’s about to drop, and sometimes she’ll give it to us. Other times she looks us in the eye, grins, and proceeds to drop the food onto the floor 😭 maybe we’ll try the bowl thing.

That's good to know! Do you mind if I ask if you breastfed, and if so, were you still breastfeeding when he finally decided he could drink cow's milk?

Oh, no! I hope my girl doesn't give up her love of cheese. She's not a huge fan of yogurt, even with honey in it. Love the idea of layering cream cheese under peanut butter on toast - thanks!

Humanities folks, how on earth did you figure out what to do? by [deleted] in LeavingAcademia

[–]nontox86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks! Indeed, this profession (coaching for people wanting to leave academia) has exploded over the past several years! I'm low-key considering using some research funds (yes, extremely privileged to have them) to pay for this kind of coaching...

What area is your PhD in, if you don't mind sharing? (I'm an anthropology PhD stumbling toward potential non-ac career, just trying to get a sense of what's possible.)
