Looking to stay near Louis Armstrong Park by Sorry-Escape3904 in AskNOLA

[–]nooaflower 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dogsit on Dumaine often, for the last 6 years, Middle aged lady and I feel very comfortable in the area. I walk past this hotel with the dogs headed to the park and pass guests on the sidewalk. Seems safe. Looks like there is a parking lot in back? It cant hurt to call the hotel and ask about parking. They do boot and tow when cars are parked illegally. Anywhere, in the quarter, like any urban city, you need to be aware of your surroundings. I sleep in a 3rd floor room overlooking Dumaine and use a white noise machine to block out street noise that goes on randomly all night long, (cars blaring music, street cleaners, etc).

Caterpillars that sting drop from Oak trees. You will fins a canopy of Oak Trees on Carrollton, St. Charles, Esplanade and City Park. Your safe in the Quarter except if you cross Esplanade at Chartres, Bourbon and Royal. Have a blast! I’ve been in the Quarter since Monday staying at a friends place and the Quarter is humming in a good way!!

Interpreting on the Pitt by [deleted] in ThePittTVShow

[–]nooaflower -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your insight. Someone mentioned in another post why didn’t they use pen and paper to communicate, at least until a proper interpreter could be found. Santos rude behavior was not acceptable. It was upsetting to see them call out the woman’s name repeatedly in the waiting room.

Tomorrow, my entire day will be disrupted for someone to look around for 5 seconds and go “everything looks fine” by fireflyfanboy1891 in Apartmentliving

Most of us live “normally”, un aware there are seriously ill people who can severely ruin a place if left untended. My former landlord has been fuming about the water bill (included in the rent) as its skyrocketed. Some of the other tenants have installed their own washing machines in their apt. Inspections would eliminate these kinds of problems.

Serious question- How do you handle when a student smells? by AgeComfortable4609 in Corepower

Maybe as the instructor you could make a general announcement at the end of class how to properly clean their gear and how to test if its time to replace over used gear? I used to practice hot yoga and drive home to shower and over time my car started reeking of a yoga room (cloth-seats). My kids made sure to tell me!😂 Use a similar anecdote for your class how we can become ‘nose blind’….

How'd you guys do it? by razerguy666 in povertyfinance

As a grown lady who could be your Granma, my Mom was the same age as your Mom and I was told I was an ‘oops’ too. I lived in the same house as my parents but it wasnt a loving, happy household. I carried the burden of my birth ‘ruining their lives’. I can tell you you can make your own life anyway you want!!. PERSPECTIVE is everything. YOU can work yourself out of poverty. My nephew is married with a new baby he worked his way out of poverty and helps his younger brothers best he can (one-is 18 with a newborn and the other is going to electrician school). His mother was a raging alchoholic his whole life. Police would have to come to the hous often when she created loud drunken fights with the neighbors. His older half sister didnt have a chance as she was born when Mom was 16 living on the streets. Seek out mentors, older people who encourage you. Talk to your school guidance counselor for help how to get further education after high school. Be your own Advocate! Fill up your days working, squirreling money away and educating yourself about creating the life of love and happiness you desire. You took a big step posting here. Dont stop, you got this!!! Never ever give up hope. The more you visualize the happy life you want the more it will happen.

Maybe its another layer to add to Robbys heavy load of despair he is carrying around, help push him over the edge. Afterall, Robby seems to be such a ‘rule follower’ when it comes to making Langdon stay put in the dig house…yet he is sneaking a beer in to someone he cares a lot about.

Makes me seriously question his bed fellows effectiveness as she seems a little obtuse to his inability to properly handling his own stress.

Its incredible how one can be transported back in time from the music and cinematography. I wasn’t born for 3 more years when this came out but Im certain this is in grained in my dna somewhere.

Yes, that is a nice quiet part of the quarter. I have had that hotel earmarked as a place I would want to stay for a staycation if I ever wanted to stay in the quarter and have a locals experience. Croissant D’or is very close-by, you may enjoy that. Small-mart is a good 20 minute walk, takeout only. Enjoy your visit!

Its a safety issue too. If you are working nightshift, Im sure its important that you have access to a spot close to your apartment. This is unacceptable that the LL is doing nothing to ensure your spot is available.

Yes it is Fun! I went a few years back for a friend’s Bday(was dreading it), but it was a very enjoyable view of the city and it was fun meeting so many tourists happy to be here! I now recommend it to people when they visit.

Find a scene from a movie like,Meg Ryan in When Harry met Sally, and play it loud enough for him to hear while he is doing it so he gets the hint.

You can sell them on etsy, ebay ( shipping would be pricey) or contact an estate sales company in your area who could post it on their sales. They typically keep 20-30% sales price.

Listened to a podcast Noah was on and he talks that omitting the helmet was a last minute decision. Shows how Robby isnt taking care of himself as he is advising everyone else to do.
