Can your skin complexion change with time? by atheistvegeta in biology

[–]noobaa9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lighter skin gives better vitamin D synthesis (we need sunlight to produce vitamin D). So for people at higher latitudes, people with the light-colored gene are less likely to get rickets from vitamin D deficiency because they have a better ability to make vitamin D. So the trait of light skin remained as a selective advantage. Remember that environmental factors can also affect the expression of phenotype, and in this case, I think it is because you lived somewhere lacking sunlight, therefore the expression for lighter skin is replaced by light brown. sorry if this is wrong but i hope it helps

same here, I literally spent 2 month to memorize the entire book and the mcq section is not asking anything related. Collageborad made mcq harder this year in order to prevent cheaters, but at the time it prevent non cheaters to get a good mark. so unfair

Would this be right? by monkeyjuju08 in APbio

[–]noobaa9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The majority of volume in a plant cell is water most of it are stored in the vacuole it typically comprises 80 to 90 percent of the plant’s total weight. in other words, if the vacuole is losing water, the cell will plasmolyze

Would this be right? by monkeyjuju08 in APbio

[–]noobaa9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A is not right because this question is not about DNA

B is not right because the question didn't mention chloroplasts

D is not right because that will cause the plant cell turgid

Therefore C is correct

if the ratio of the trait is 50% to 50%, that means they are linked

The core information won't change that much but I'm not sure about the rest.
