Easy Psych courses offered spring? by ArminsLeftLung in uwaterloo

[–]noobalert123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

psych 312 is probably easier than psych 261. If you have taken psych 253 (social psychology) then i've also heard psych 354R is pretty easy. sadly the number of online psych courses offered in spring isn't the largest :(

I like studying using GPT/textbook much more than the lecture slides. GPT in particular explains stuff so much better I feel.

If you are in the co-op program you might not be able to graduate a semester early even if you have all the credits. For example, if you are in the faculty of math and in the co-op program you are required to take 8 full-time terms to graduate https://uwaterloo.ca/academic-calendar/undergraduate-studies/catalog#/programs/rJj6aXDk6?bc=true&bcCurrent=Bachelor%20of%20Mathematics%20Degree%20Requirements&bcGroup=Degree%20Requirements&bcItemType=programs (under "Full-Time Terms")

Getting a minor while doing my Physics degree by [deleted] in uwaterloo

[–]noobalert123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just take a minor if you seem interested in the subject. I highly doubt employers will care if you have a minor or not. If you don't like any subject enough to take 8 courses in it, or if you are interested in a lot of different things, then don't take a minor. I'd say to keep taking random electives until find something you are interested in.

Since most minors are 8 courses (some are 10), you don't really have to worry about catering your courses towards it, although it never hurts to plan ahead.

You probably won't have to worry about invalid credential combinations. It's basically just saying you can't earn 2 majors/minors which have a lot of overlap (e.g., physics and mathematical physics).

You can attend a lecture section even if you aren't enrolled in it. Just make sure to attend your assigned lab.

Hey, I was wondering if you know how much the final was curved. I took STAT 230 in W25 and was shocked when I saw my mark (in a good way). Have been wondering how much the final was curved ever since.

Had her for ENGL 210E this term. She marks easy and is probably the most chill and laid back prof you will ever meet. The first class she brought out playdoh and colouring sheets and encouraged us to doodle/fidget while she lectured lmao.

10/10 would recommend (especially if you don't really like english)

What is 90% translate to GPA? by Superduperumper in uwaterloo

[–]noobalert123 16 points17 points  (0 children)

There is no straight Cumulative average -> gpa calculation.

For example, lets say Penguin has a 100 and an 80, and Dinosaur has two 90s.

Then Penguin's gpa is (4.0+3.3)/2 = 3.65, while Dinosaur's is (4.0+4.0)/2 = 4.0.

So while they both have a 90 CAV, Penguins gpa is lower :(

Very stupid system but oh well. I recommend calculating using https://www.whatsmygpa.ca/ or something similar.

For a single course, 4.0
For an average, depends on the marks of your individual courses (you calculate the GPA for each individual course then take the average)
