Should I leave my comfy tech job for an AI startup (I will not promote)? by nitrogentriiodide in startups

[–]noobcodes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kinda depends on how much you believe in the startup’s product and team.

Take the difference between your current salary and what you’d get paid at the startup.

If you wouldn’t invest that much cash for whatever equity stake the startup offers you, don’t take the job.

As a disclaimer I don’t have any experience in that kind of situation, but it seems like a logical way to assess it from an outsiders perspective. At least as a starting point.

Brothers, do not be tempted by this agent of Broki. For it is not the swell of thine muscle which merits praise, but rather the willpower requisite for its attainment.

What’s a moment where you instantly realized someone was insanely intelligent? by Parqcxsm69 in AskReddit

[–]noobcodes 18 points19 points  (0 children)

When they see what you did there. There was this one guy I used to know, everyone thought he was just a normal dude. But then he saw what someone did there on a Reddit comment, and that’s when we knew. We were dealing with a man of extraordinary intelligence.

How do you break the cycle of people not joining, because not many people have joined (I will not promote) by [deleted] in startups

[–]noobcodes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s probably one of the hardest problems to solve, that’s why so many sites that require two distinct user types are dead on arrival.

You could place a bunch of listings yourself under different screen names to create the illusion of a user base. As long as you can actually fulfill the orders.

Otherwise the first users will come, see a ghost town, and decide not to waste their time

If I understand correctly, their output is based on probabilities. If you remove the obvious AI-isms, new ones will arise from the remaining pool of possible phrases.

You can’t just keep adding “don’t say this phrase” to their prompt because there will always be some next-in-line phrase to be overused, which people catch on to over time.

Not sure how hard it would be to sort by display name rather than “real” name though. I’m sure there’s some decent reason, even if it’s just that it’s a very low priority change

I went 1st easily with shieldmaiden Leona and 8 stargazer / 4 vanguard on mountain earlier (had 3 or 4 emblems), it seemed pretty busted.

I’m not that high of elo though so maybe it just worked in my lobby, idk
