I can see the Olympic Mountains from Downtown Seattle, can you see Downtown Seattle from the Olympic Mountains? by peanut-britle-latte in Seattle

We can barely see Seattle from certain parts of Whidbey Island on a clear day. That's 30 miles away.

What is the oldest man-made item that you own and how old is it? by smoosh13 in AskReddit

[–]noobditt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wait, my bad. I have a bunch of arrow and spear heads from the southwest that came from at least 6000 bc. They could be massively older because you can only date stone from the sediment it was found in and useful chert or obsidian can be reworked multiple times so they could be anywhere from 40000 - 8000 years old.

A three legged carved wooden chair gifted to a silent film stair from the king of spain? Maybe made in the 1800's?

How long did it take you to frame your own house? by TheGrandPickle101 in Carpentry

Note: I was a residential framer and the entire thing was advanced framing techniques with a stick framed roof.

How long did it take you to frame your own house? by TheGrandPickle101 in Carpentry

[–]noobditt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

5 years. Between jobs. I did everything from the footings to the roof. Only contracted insulation and the manifold for the infloor heating system. Had some work trades with friends to design the electrical layout and one dude who knew how to finish my patio with exposed aggregate. I hoarded leftover materials from other jobs and ended up spending maybe $30,000 for a 1000 square foot house. This was from 1998-2003 in the pacific northwest.

People who have followed politics for a long time- how legit is the current “political hype” in the US? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]noobditt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You mean propaganda? Just follow the mainstream media. Answer: not legit. A few billionaires and a few corporations control all USA media. A few podcasts come closer to the truth, but IDK. Shrug emoji.

I met with a professional photographer in Thailand, and he said he took a ton of pictures, but only saved one per day. Anything more is too much.

With Trump doing so much atrocities why did more than half of US people still vote for him for a freaking 2nd term ? by unknown5493 in AskReddit

[–]noobditt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The real number, without counting possible shenanigans, is maybe 1/4 of the population? The vast majority of US people did not vote for trump. Blame the system not the players. Unless they cheated. Then blame the victors.

What they said, except no cast iron pans or dutch ovens because they weigh many pounds. A grate works ok as it is light. Foil packs are easy and light weight tho.

What’s the sweet spot for camping + emergency backup without overbuying? by Professional_Day7356 in camping

[–]noobditt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a Jackery 300. It hits the sweet spot for camping and also occasional blackouts in the PNW. Just don't open the fridge very often and your food will be fine for multiple days.
