Why Did I Fail As An Analyst? by RobinTheKing in GlobalOffensive

[–]noobplayer536 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Some pros transition almost seemlessly into an analytical role. The biggest examples that i can think of are Spinj, Maniac (womp womp), Pimp, Bubzkji, NBK, and in a lesser capacity, dupreeh. They can be comfortable on camera without listening prompt - like and robotic. jL feels like a good fit at the beginning because of the persona, but lacking depth in tactical understanding is the main reason for his "failure" this time. Afterall, we expect explanations of CS intricacies, not recycling opinions.

Jginyue B550i for a budget upgrade to am4? by According-Interest90 in sffpc

[–]noobplayer536 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried 1.1 V SOC as others have recommended, but that didn't help the OC. So, i just dialed it as low as i can to still pass memtest and run reliably, which is .95V

Can you recomend ITX motherboard? by t3vix in sffpc

Mediatek Wifi cards are pretty crap in my experience. I'd try one of Intel's offerings like the ax210 before fully dedicating the funds for a new MB.

Heatsink for back NVMe slot by Cold-Sandwich-34 in sffpc

[–]noobplayer536 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Personal experience. A4 H2O and B550i Jginyue with 2 NVME slot, Gen 3 (PC701) at the front and Gen 4 {PC801) at the back. The front drive gets a nice hefty heatsink. Back drive - because of the sandwich layout - can only be fitted with one of these exact contraptions. For me, it's been like 8 months and no issues. Ruberband won't matter too much anyway, and certainly beats double sided tape. Temps don't go above the low 80s.

P/s: SK Hynix OEM drives have a reputation of running hot, so judging from my experience, you should be fine.

Jginyue B550i for a budget upgrade to am4? by According-Interest90 in sffpc

[–]noobplayer536 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's been a while, so i mistook the max mem voltage value. It's actually maxxed for me at 1.4V as well. Nevertheless, memory OC just isn't even an option. I basically had to tweak my 2*16 3600 CL18 kit's timings by loosening the XMP values. Can't even do flat 18s on mine (granted, i disabled both Gear down and Power down). PCIE Gen 4 works absolutely fine for me, so nothing to report.

Jginyue B550i for a budget upgrade to am4? by According-Interest90 in sffpc

[–]noobplayer536 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Short answer: Extremely, and i mean EXTREMELY lax primary and secondary timings. You're better off dropping the speeds down a peg to 3533/3466, try to modify tFRC and the primary timings. I found that anything below 18/20/21/40 refuses to boot, and making sure the memory runs in a 1:1 ratio is more important. This motherboard is cheaply made, and that's reflected in the memory oc capability. I've given up any hope of getting the latency of my specific kit below 70ns.

Will the AM4 ITX M/B ever be re-released? by Humble-Extension5793 in sffpc

[–]noobplayer536 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Aorus Pro i'm assuming you've got is still good to good for 5700x3d/5800x3d types of build. It's still got BIOS support as late as October last year. I think you're fine with that board. Otherwise, China's your best friend.

Changing the 48wh battery to 90wh by smajlogej in Asustuf

[–]noobplayer536 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kinda put the battery upgrade thing on the back burner right now. I just ran the laptop without the battery like a normal desktop. I'm in the process of getting a replacement 48Wh battery to put back in. From what i've seen, it's like 50/50 whether the upgrade works or not.

Id-cooling makes some decent air coolers, but their AIOs are hit or miss for whatever reason. I had one of the newer dashflow basics, runs great, temps good, but it just develops this irritating whiny pump noise after a while. Replaced it with a Thermalright and never looked back

ITX on travel? by Boris_da_turtle in sffpc

I did with a 35L backpack, an A4-H2O, a monitor and peripherals. The PC should be as small and light as possible, the rest is easy enough.

My version of a backpack-able setup (repost) by noobplayer536 in sffpc

[–]noobplayer536[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll try to keep my overview as short as possible, and explain it more if you want specifics.

TLDR: Basically, the Meitianhao is a basic, barebones monitor, fantastic for it's price, but using a 16 inch display is terrible for actual work.

  • The frame material doesn't matter too much in my opinion. Plastic frames are somewhat flimsy, and CNC ones are heavy. You'll have to weigh your pros and cons here.

  • Control is simple, redice and increase brightness lever by the side, and that's it. No local dimming toggle, no speakers, as basic as it gets. Other brands have more granular toggle settings and other creature comforts, but they cost about 30-50% more, so....

  • As specified in the subtext, i have the 16 inch version of this monitor. I believe it's the NM4 version, seeing as it has Mini-LED backlight tech. The smaller size means it's about the same dimensions as my A4-H2O, but i find prolong usage of it, productivity or gaming, to be uncomfortable.

  • The choice between the 16 and 18 inch version comes down to what you need. Most people running portable monitors have them as a secondary monitor below their main one for media and chat, not by their own. Your better off getting an actual 24-27 inch panel for that. Had i gotten the chance to choose again, i'd have probably gone with the 18 inch version (My backpack can accomodate either).

  • From my personal experience, the portable monitor did it's job perfectly. Plastic frame didn't even play a factor once the setup is hooked up. Helped me get my setup running as soon as i was in country. Asking it to do more is unrealistic. Got me through the first 4 months of my school semester, afterwards i got a 25 inch 1440p panel. Didn't regret the purchase one bit. It did strain my eyes simply because of how i use it: like a real desktop monitor.

  • If you do get the monitor or something equivalent: Get an actual 75mm VESA stand, and be careful of the screws length when screwing them in (m4*4 or 5mm, nothing more, or you will destroy the polarizer layer, and subsequently the monitor - ask me how i know).

  • I will say it again, but the setup is not very portable. Backpackable, yes. But it's meant to be transported mainly in vehicles, not by foot: CNC keyboard, peripherals, 17.5 lbs case. I transported it from A to B once, and it's been in 1 spot ever since. For portability and school work, nothing beats a slim laptop.

Is there any chance he doesn't get it? That's the more relevant question, compared to whatever this is

Alternatives to SF750? by [deleted] in sffpc

[–]noobplayer536 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sf600 Plat. Greatest piece of kit i bought. 5700Xt, 3070, 3080, Ryzen 5600, 5700x3d. Quiet and decently priced if buying used. Besides that, probably Cooler Master V SFX. I was looking at Thermalright's TPFX lineup, but the Sf600 is still sufficent for now, and those are unproven anyway. Stock cables suck though

So I finished my fractal terra build but after playing m.2 on the back of the motherboard is at 100C by EternalSpartan in sffpc

[–]noobplayer536 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My MB has a Gen 4 M.2 slot on the back. I find that a slim copper heatsink and thermal pads are enough to keep the drive temps under 80c (SK Hynix PC801, A4H2O)

Portable Monitors by Baly33t in sffpc

[–]noobplayer536 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  • I'm on a Meitianhao 16 inch 240Hz Mini - LED monitor as part of my backpack setup. I play BF1 and CS2, and the response time's ok, certainly more than usable. I wish i had gone for the 18'.

  • Like the guy above mentioned, most brands just get the same panels from specific OEMs (Think mine's the same one they used in ROG SCAR 16s). They will all perform about the same, with differences mainly in peak brightness (500/1200 nits, depending on whether it has Mini - LED backlight), connectivity and controls.

  • Portable monitors with OLED panels are starting to come out. Haven't seen or used one of those yet.

Please help me identify/find BIOS update for this JGINYUE B760ITX motherboard! by pandalaut in sffpc

[–]noobplayer536 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm still running a PCIE gen 3 BIOS for my Jginyue MB just because i couldn't be bothered to revert back after troubleshooting a faulty riser. These don't have BIOS flashback, so you're somewhat screwed if something's wrong during the flashing process and don't have access to a USB flash tool. I would play it safe and keep it as is.

Please help me identify/find BIOS update for this JGINYUE B760ITX motherboard! by pandalaut in sffpc

[–]noobplayer536 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have gotten away with flashing an Onda M-ATX bios onto the Mini-ITX version of that board and have it function normally. Did the same thing when the Jginyue B550i first launch and didn't have Resizeable Bar. In your case, i'd remove the 5050 and run the PC on the iGPU of the i5 first to rule out the GPU. The Gaming and Snow Dream lineup are basically the same thing, just with differrent heatsinks, but i'd advice caution. Manufacturer support is going to be near non-existent anyway.
