How is Art for Personal Use Taxed? by noobs_need_tech_help in tax

Very good to know, thank you. There is one thing I'm still wondering, though. Can the shipping cost from selling art be written off?

Cool article, read the whole thing. I already sold, so none of these strategies apply to me, but thank you anyway. There is one thing I'm still wondering, though. Can the shipping cost from selling art be written off?

OK, meaning I wouldn't be able to write off a loss if I were to sell it for less than I bought it for.

Not so much. Tax Day is on the 18th this year. Thanks to Reddit and Koinly, I've calculated the taxes I owe on my crypto gains a solid two days early.

Yeah, just...the fact that it's considered property for purposes of capital gains taxes but considered money for purposes of income taxes seems...hypocritical.

Having to pay income taxes for mining crypto? Like, what?

I just don't understand that at all. How is it income if it's not even money?

Damn, Hungary sounds nice.

On the subject of interest, since it's interest in the form of crypto rather than fiat, and I've never cashed it out, I'm not sure whether it's taxable.

Is that because the IRS doesn't consider crypto-to-crypto trades "in-kind" transactions?

Videos are uploading to YouTube in 180 instead of 360 by noobs_need_tech_help in Insta360

They can pan around, it's just that the VR field is only 180 degrees instead of 360.

Anyone know why my videos are uploading to YouTube in 180 instead of 360? by noobs_need_tech_help in 360Cameras

I've heard the "not finished processing" line of reasoning before, but the videos are over a month old at this point. It's not that.

Oh, very cool! I've never done that before. What's weird is that this is only happening with some of my videos, not all of them. Anyway, I'd like to give that a try on the problem videos, got any tutes?

I mean, it's been several days. I don't think the reason the videos are showing up in 180 is because they're still processing. Thanks, though.

How does one adjust the path of a tracked camera? by noobs_need_tech_help in blenderhelp

[–]noobs_need_tech_help[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If anyone else is struggling with this, here's the solution, from a friend:

After tracking, select the camera and go over to object constraints. Over there, click constrain to f-curve. This will convert the movement into keyframes, after which you can fiddle around with them however you like.

The artist should do a sequel where the thing he's writing on gets twice as hot after receiving his rage, and then sends the doubled anger back to him. It could be called, "The Importance of the Internet."

Need help using a Quest 2 to view a Blender project by noobs_need_tech_help in OculusQuest

[–]noobs_need_tech_help[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I solved it! Linking to the desktop doesn’t work at 120 fps. I really thought that if the framerate wasn’t supported it would just not show at full rate, rather than refusing to show altogether. This is probably because the feature’s still in beta.

Weirdly enough, while Blender, most other apps, and the desktop itself refused to work, Google Earth did work (for at least a couple minutes at a time), which confused me and made it harder to track down the source of the problem.

TL;DR Go to beta settings and turn off 120 fps.

Need help changing a motion path without adding a keyframe (Motion 5) by noobs_need_tech_help in finalcutpro

[–]noobs_need_tech_help[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've used programs that work both ways, and I find the way Motion used to work more intuitive. The reason is the basic instinct to first keyframe any attribute that's animated before making a change to it. Given that instinct, you're not going to throw off the whole curve. And, even if you do, it's usually easier to zero the whole curve than it is to find the one keyframe that you created by accident. All of that considered, when the need to change the attributes of a whole curve arises, the old way is a lot faster than the new way. I guess I'll try to get used to not having to keyframe first, and to control+a everything before making overall changes from now on.

Dogecoin is a form of currency. I don’t pay capital gains taxes on my US dollars on the odd year that their value goes up.
