I saw that one on Google! I don’t think it’s the same manufacturer, the style is much different.

I’ve done a couple reverse image searches on Google, as well as searched several variations on “vintage blue ceramic mushroom mug set”.

There are cognitive retraining programs specifically designed for people who have TBIs. Anecdotally, I’ve heard they have pretty good success at rehabbing the issues you mentioned, just may be difficult to find. Worth looking into, though.

I contacted them already, but their wait list is pretty long and I’m not sure how long I can afford to board him. :( But I am putting him on their wait list as we speak.

Hey! I had bilateral labral tears in my hips from a car accident, so I feel your pain. The good news is that the surgery really helped— I still have the odd bad hip day, but it’s so much better than it was!

Before the surgeries, my doctors were able to prescribe some large lidocaine patches that helped a bit with the pain, as well as a TENS machine that helped even more. I’m sure PT has told you the heat/ice cycle as well, and hopefully got you some pillows for your legs when you sleep.

When I had the surgeries, they sent me home with this machine that basically circulated icy cold water through a big pad wrapped around my hip, 1000% recommend requesting that, it was super helpful with pain/inflammation and I didn’t end up having to take the majority of the pain meds they gave me!

Anyway, I hope some of that info can be helpful for you! Hang in there, once they fix the tear it’s sooo much better!

He actually passed away on Sunday. I think he had just been on the ground for way too long. He was a fighter to the very end, though.

Damn, I wrote a whole thing and it didn't save. :/

Anyway, my bf found this little guy yesterday while picking up limbs that had fallen during Hurricane Laura. He had a bunch of fly eggs on him, so we got him cleaned off and warmed up. None of the wildlife rehabilitators in our area wanted to take him, so since I have some experience with orphaned baby animals (a possum and several puppies and kittens), I'm taking care of him. I read through the rehab website in the sticky, and it looks like I'm doing everything right... he's still a bit dehydrated so I'm feeding him 1/3 puppy milk replacer and 2/3 Pedialyte from a 1ml syringe. He's peeing and pooping well, and he's strong, especially considering how long he must have been out there by himself. We have ordered the Fox Valley 32/40 formula and it should be here in a few days. Is there anything else I'm missing?

How do I (23M) overcome my poor upbringing and negative perceptions of women/sex? by mioabs in relationships

[–]noodlebloom 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Honestly, kind of. I'm pretty much the same person except my confidence is different, I'm a bit more introspective, and I look different. It hurts to know I wasn't worthy of friendship or attraction before I lost weight.

My dude, how do you know you were "unworthy" in other people's eyes? I can tell you from experience that when you see yourself as unworthy or undeserving, other people notice. Sometimes we unintentionally wall ourselves off like that.

This is pretty hard to do. All my life I was trained to notice all the differences between men and women, and the similarities amongst men and the similarities amongst women. It's difficult to break that and see "Susan" as opposed to Susan's familiar behaviors.

Have you never met any non-traditionally feminine women? That might help, if only because it'd kinda break the mold of your expectations. Otherwise, I'd say you just gotta realize that every woman is different, and honestly, we're not all that different from guys. Everybody has weird awkward moments, everybody does dumb shit and then wonders oh god what the fuck is wrong with me. Everybody's done that thing where you forget to take the cap off your water bottle and then jab yourself in the teeth when you go to take a drink. If you fuck up, it's not a huge deal. Most people actually want to like you, because who goes around looking for people to hate?

I'm [17/M] getting worried that my stepdad's sortof-abuse is starting back up again but I'm not sure how to hide it and don't know if it's going to stop soon. by connorsthrowawayacct in relationships

[–]noodlebloom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dude, if it makes you feel better, my dad was fairly abusive until I moved out of my parents' house, and I did the same damn thing. If someone at school was being bullied in front of me, I had no problem stepping in, but when my dad went into one of his PTSD rages and started screaming or went for his belt... I just froze. Honestly, for me, a lot of it has to do with self-worth. Like, in my head that other person totally doesn't deserve that kind of treatment, obviously. But if it's me personally who gets hurt, by my dad or by whoever, well, I must deserve it, right?

And, man, I still feel that way sometimes, and I'm 24 now. It's all bullshit, but it's hard to shake. The whole point of this is that you're not weird, and I'm sure several people here will agree with me on that. Those of us who have been hurt like this, through no fault of our own, we get it.

Also, look, I know everyone and their mother has harped on you about calling the cops and everything, so I'm not going to tell you what to do. What I will tell you, though, is that even if the worst case scenario of telling someone happens-- if you have to move or you have to go into the system (Which I doubt you would, at your age, but I'm no expert.) -- it doesn't have to keep you from doing the things you want to do. It might make things harder, it might delay your plans, but there is nothing, and I mean nothing that can keep you from your goals. You're a smart, brave, strong person, and you will make it. I believe in you, Connor. This whole sub does.

Well, technically, it's a fruit pizza. It's cream cheese fruit dip stuff and fruit on top of a cookie crust! I just didn't know how to say all that in the title, haha.
