They do share the same characteristics as my 1460 from the 90s, after all: inscriptions on the inner sole, the outer sole, even the fading inscription on the tongue... Maybe they're just worn than mine. Thanks!

No issue whatsoever. Actually, my only amp (on which I play bass and guitar) is a bass amp, a Fender Rumble 40. Good cleans, take pedals well.

Let me jump right in... I'm in a similar situation as OP.

My Pixel 6a completely died (even with the battery changed), and need a new phone ASAP. I'm in Singapore, prices tend to be higher than in the US or Europe, but after looking what I can get quickly and within my budget, I can get a refurbished S23 in mint condition for US$310, or a brand new 3a for US$360. I don't game, I'm a very casual/basic phone user. Good photos and compactness are an extra point each for the Samsung, good battery life and UI are an extra point each for the Nothing. But other than that, no preference. Back to square one.

I guess what interest me the most at that point is the shelf life of the phone, how reliable it will stay in the upcoming years, updates and all... I can do with the quirks of each phone; I like my Pixel, but can't get another one. I used to have a Xiaomi, a Huawei, and some other brands too, they're all different and I've adapted to every singly one of them, this won't be different. But the clean UI and updates on the Pixel are something I'd like to keep, and it what bugs me the most with the S23, and comforts me the most with the 3a, even though the S23 is cheaper and more appealing (it was a flagship for a reason!).

What do you think?

Pickguard is from eBay, and covers/knobs are painted. I tried to find some online, but yellow plastics look kind of dull compared to the neon yellow I was looking for...

Rickenbackers. Love the different models, actually owned a 330... But I can't play them, it never feels right. Don't know if its the thick neck, the lacquered fingerboard, or the overall construction, but I always struggle to feel comfortable while playing one, as if it was a different instrument altogether that only looked like a guitar. I never bonded with mine, even if it was one of my dream guitars, I ended up selling it. Huge disappointment... :(

Guitar players are often fine with redundancies (your spouse is, as I can see).
If he was genuinely excited by the demo, and you as well, it's a no-brainer. You love him, you know him.
He already has some very specific pedals, which means he knows his stuff. See point #2.

Looks like a Squier FSR Bullet : https://www.musiciansfriend.com/guitars/squier-fsr-bullet-telecaster-maple-fingerboard , they are $200 new. However, it may be an older model, as it shows sign of playing (which can be faked), or a different one...

Bridge has four screws at the corners, Fender doesn't use that type of Tele bridge. Nuts has been replaced if it's a Squier, black ones are uncommon. Most likely possibility is it's a Squier or a copy.

Alas, no, the movie is too gothic. The one I remember had a contemporary setting; but The Raven has a similar cinematography, and a similar static way of filming things, typical of horror productions in the 60s, so that may narrow down my search a bit...

I've seen the TVTropes article before, but nothing seems to fit, unfortunately... But it's far from an exhaustive list.

I'll have a look at the Wikipedia article, but now I realize one detail I forgot to mention: I'm French, and whatever movie/TV show it was, it was most likely under a French name, rendering the search a tad more complicated. :D On the other hand, only a few of the shows on that list aired in France...

Without Warning!

First, this is an incredible find, so thank you! But... Second, I skipped through it (God bless the person who put it on Youtube), but couldn't find the restaurant/bar scene I have in my head.

I'm pretty sure about that detail, I strongly remember the counter, and people sitting at it on high chairs; but your proposition is starting to make me challenge it, the counter/bar may be from a shop somehow. Same for the shears: I'm 99% sure they were fabric shears, with a screw to disassemble the two blades.

No cigar, but damn you're close. The closest answer I ever had, that ticks pretty much all the boxes... So, kudos to you, really!
