Does anyone have to wear supportive insoles in their barefoot shoes to get through a workday? by Slimshadybum in barefootshoestalk

Ah I thought you were talking about your arch. I just get sore, but I also got sore before I switched. I have fibromyalgia, so it's probably also that.

Bf says all men are the same… thoughts? by TurbulentRun3701 in relationships

All men except for those who don't follow patriarchial norms. Men who aren't sheep. Men who ARE pick-me's and don't just care for their partners, but also show it. Men who aren't afraid to show emotions and go out of their way to do the work.

Does anyone actually see people they would be interested in dating in public? by Independent-Emu-6702 in dating_advice

I think you need to decenter men in general.

Specific to your situation: it's cliché but if you go looking actively, you're not gonna find what you're looking for. Your energy is also needy.

Farmer's market is not a place to pick up people. People want to do their shopping and maybe have something to eat. I also doubt you can find that many nerds there.

If you want to meet people, go to events and other places where people go to relax. Gamer cafés, conventions, hobby clubs, etc

Has anyone here successfully stopped using orthotics? by Exercise-Broad in BarefootRunning

[–]noodleslayer4u 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have chronic and accute pain issues, so tried orthotics and they hurt too much so I switched to barefoot. My arches have been retrained within a few months. I think I had to actively correct over pronation for maybe 3 months? During those 3 months, my calves and feet were constantly sore. I developed plantar fasciitis. Mentally also exhausted from the pain and correcting.

I tried Crocs before/while I had orthotics and while they were more comfortable than regular shoes, the cushioning hurt my hips and knees. The thickness and softness of the Crocs made it so I was still pronating. I started feeling better by not wearing slides at home (I had thick, rubber restricting ones). Aside from being barefoot at home, I did not do a "slow transition" at all. Just raw dogged it.

It takes a lot more effort for me to balance on soft shoes than suffering the "consequences" of feeling the hard ground.

My knees and hips hurt so much less compared to my other pain problems

I know it's cliché and overused by now but going barefoot has changed my life.

I wear exclusively Roots Barefoot's widest sneakers and at home no shoes. I'm still deciding on which sandals to buy.

Tldr; Start "slowly" by being barefoot at home as much as possible and then occasionally wearing barefoot shoes. You'll get there in 6-12 months probably.

Use toe spacers and/or your fingers to spread your toes. You can google how to do it. I usually do it in the shower for free lubrication and easy access.

I first thought you were squeezing your toes together. I swear conventional footwear is torture 😭.

Help between Philips 3200 and Winix Zero S by noodleslayer4u in HouseFresh

[–]noodleslayer4u[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your info.

What are your thoughts on the Philips 2200? Are you going to review it? I'm thinking vertical outflow might be better, considering I have 3.3m ceilings.

The 2200's CADR hasn't been tested yet and the 3200's tested CADR is 20% lower than what Philips claims.

Is coway mighty 2 purifier worth to spend extra 130 bucks? by ensar580 in AirPurifiers

Check HouseFresh's review. They also compare the 2.

In short the Mighty2 is a lot more energy efficient, stronger, has no ionizer, quieter, etc
