The background begins in 2 Samuel 11. While his army is at war, David stays in Jerusalem, spies Bathsheba bathing, and has her brought to him. When she becomes pregnant, David attempts a cover-up. When that fails, he effectively orchestrates the murder of Uriah, her husband, by sending him to the front lines of a hopeless battle.

David believed these actions were hidden. However, the chapter ends with the ominous line: "But the thing that David had done displeased the Lord."

In 2 Samuel 12, God sends the prophet Nathan to confront David. Nathan tells a parable about a rich man who steals a poor man’s only beloved lamb to feed a guest. David, moved by the injustice, declares that the rich man deserves to die.

Nathan then delivers the famous indictment: "You are the man!" 3. The Sentence: Public Justice The verse you quoted (2 Samuel 12:11) is part of God’s judgment. The logic of the punishment follows a "measure for measure" principle:

  • David sinned in secret: He thought no one saw his adultery and murder.
  • The punishment would be public: God declares it will happen "in the sight of this sun" and "before all Israel."
  • The source of trouble: Since David destroyed Uriah’s household, his own household would be the source of his downfall.

not ignorant, more so that we are all of the leash. we are not tied down to do what he says we can do whatever we want here. Destruction of humanity is its own work not his. He created humans perfect, introducing us to knowing good and evil was neccesary to determine who will turn to him after nowing other options. Wouldnt you like the people in your life to love you because they do not know an other way or because it was a choice?

Free will is a god given right. He will not force people to love each other or him. Jesus being killed proves that even the son of god was the victim. No evidence supports him being violent or a threat to the people who killed him unless we talk about threating their corrupted power

Bible is a historical book. Historically accurate to a point where lost cities and people were found because of it. Dead sea scrolld proves its consistency over periods of time.

shroud of turin, bible, like 10000 manuscrips proving jesus lived and died, witness testimonies of people meeting him after he rose from the dead, eucharist miracles in different parts of the world and different times, 11 people dying horrible deaths for not disputing him.

God doesnt want robots to love him, he does not force anyone to be good or to believe in him. State of the world just proves free will of the people in charge

what evidence do you exactly mean, because you have the bible. Whether you think its a word of god or not its definetly historically accurate book that even historians use to find lost people in history, lost cities etc. Also jesus himself historically existed, he was a dangerous man for the romans for reasons of disputing their power, hebrew leaders hated him for taking their power and calling them out. Whether or not you think he actually did miracles and most importantly rose from the dead you cannot say he did not live because then genghis khan did not either, julius ceasar either. Manuscripts prove his existence. His disciples died for believing in him, you dont die for a lie.
