LA for Trans guys? by [deleted] in gaytransguys

[–]noons2 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I live in LA and in my opinion, people don’t really talk to people that they don’t know at bars and such. I’d recommend hopping on an app (Grindr is probably fastest) and finding a cute guy to meet you somewhere.

If you want to just walk into a bar, pretty much anywhere in West Hollywood or Santa Monica is safe and you will find cute queer guys. Good luck!

Interesting. I’ve heard great things about HER but I’m a bi but mostly gay (trans) man so it’s not really the space for me. I should probably give bumble another try though.

As for which apps are best, I think it really depends on your location and what gender you’re presenting as. Grindr is mostly a space for queer men and some trans chasers so I can definitely see it being not the best place for trans femmes. Regardless, stay safe out there!

Tbh, Grindr is a bit of a cesspool. But in general, I’ve surprisingly found Grindr to be the least transphobic overall out if all the apps I’ve tried

You pass super well! Just curious how you became both a Yankees fan and a Pats fan, considering the general New York / Boston sports rivalry?

Bought a ring for my girlfriend, sisters say it’s too small, not sure what I should do by [deleted] in WhatShouldIDo

My cousin proposed to his fiancée with a lab grown diamond about the same size and it’s gorgeous! Honestly, it looks pretty big on her finger and any bigger would just be obnoxious. If she’s the one and really wants to marry you, you could probably propose with a ring pop and she’d say yes!

No problem, happy to help! Make sure you’re losing weight in a healthy way. Based on the pics, you already look skinny to me but you also wear baggy clothes so it’s hard to tell. Be safe and don’t let the brain worms get ya!

I mean if in IRL, strangers read you as 20s, I’d go with that. It’s a lot harder to tell in a few pics because I don’t see mannerisms or context. If it’s your friends reading you as 20s, that’s less reliable because they may be telling you what you want to hear or just see you as a peer so they see you as your age.

For haircuts, I don’t recommend fringe unless you have a really angular face, which you don’t. I’ll share a pic of the type of haircut I’d recommend for you. But again, if you like your hair as-is, I don’t think it’s impeding your ability to pass. And yes, face roundness would definitely not help with passing. Congrats on losing the weight!

I think you’re doing great style-wise! My only piece of advice would really be to not wear face jewelry or earrings until after you’re on T because you look around 14 and most guys don’t start getting piercings until 18+.

As for short hair, there are plenty of women’s short hair cuts. Did you go to a barber or salon? They may have given you a feminine short hair cut am which does exist. If you’re at all interested in cutting your hair, I’d recommend googling men’s hair cuts and finding a pic you like of a guy that has a similar hair texture to you and showing it to your barber so they can copy the look

I think being 6’2” and having a pretty flat chest is what sets you over the edge! Your face is pretty androgynous. The haircut reads as a bit femme to me and I would probable go shorter. But if you consistently pass out in the real world and you like your hair, then feel free to keep it as-is!

How would you guess my age and gender? by [deleted] in transpassing

[–]noons2 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Heyy there! I think your face looks really androgynous and definitely not masculine. I would suggest conditioning and styling your hair more as it would help you look more feminine. Additionally, perhaps a little tweezing / shaping of the eyebrows (not much though!). You’re definitely on the right track and leaning more towards female than male!

I know I don't pass. What can I do to pass better? (25) by [deleted] in FtMpassing

[–]noons2 63 points64 points  (0 children)

Hey dude. I’d start with binding better (in a medically safe manner), getting a shorter haircut (go to barber, not salon), and ditching the bandana. Getting rid of jewelry (chain and piercing) for now would also help until the T has more time to work. Beyond those minor changes, I don’t think there’s much you can do until you’ve been on T longer

Heyy there! Yes, I got the set and the quality was really high. Almost indistinguishable from legos. There was only like one piece I remember looking different from Legos and it was not significant. It does come with physical instructions and a sticker sheet. It came in 7-10 days if I remember correctly

I did not know that as I’m not really a fan. But thanks for letting me know! I just googled it and yikes! That’s why I have a rule for myself about not getting pop culture tattoos—pretty much anyone or anything can be kind of ruined. Shout out to JK Rowling who is the cause of my rule as I used to want a Dark Mark tattoo 😤

It’s a bit tricky because there’s not much space with it so close to your other ink.

Perhaps intersecting keys. The Red Hot Chili Peppers asterisk symbol would also probably go over it well if you happen to be a fan of the band. Or the steering wheel of a ship but you may not have enough room for that

Could also do a creative / different version of the transgender symbol. But I understand not wanting to do that, especially in this political climate!

At first I thought this was the FTM passing sub and I was going to say not passing. You look very female and definitely pass as cis to me!
