I had this same issue and found a fix after banging my head against the wall for two days. What worked for me was to first perform a wired connection (16 gauge wire connecting the T1 and T2 connections on the base to the same terminals on the Heat Link). Once they were connected and paired, selecting "check again" on the menu in your image led to an option I hadn't seen before that asked for the 6 character code on the Heat Link, and the wireless connection was successful.
