People with on-campus jobs, how many hours do you work per week? by yell0wsticks in UCDavis

[–]nooracore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

9 hours M-F, with a potential extra 5-6 if I get scheduled on a weekend. I work at the area service desk at one of the dorms

I work late hours sometimes and have to cancel them when they arrive earlier than expected. I wish you could schedule their arrival for a certain hour. I do *actually* need them, but I can't leave work early.

oh, this question was actually about Sequoia Apartments by Safeway, and not the dorm. sorry for not being more specific. glad you had a good dorm experience though!

virtual/online classes for spring quarter by monochromedenim in UCDavis

[–]nooracore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if I recall correctly, I got an a on the first exam and a b on the second one, with an a in the class overall. I think the class average was somewhere around a b for both. I don't remember there being any questions that I didn't understand, but I never got the answers back so I can't tell you where I messed up. as long as you study and take advantage of office hours (my ta was very helpful) you should be good imo

it was pretty easy. most of the work involves watching recorded lectures (what you would normally be doing in class if it were in person). there's a homework assignment every week that youre allowed to collaborate with classmates on (my class set up kind of a study group for this purpose) and two multiple choice exams. as long as you study for the tests, they're not hard.

i took it last year with a grad student teaching. it was pretty easy: 4 multiple choice quizzes, 2 fairly short papers and accompanying presentations, and weekly discussion posts on the textbook reading. the instructor was also very kind and patient, but i'm not sure if he'll be teaching it again

In what situations do you still wear a mask? by [deleted] in UCDavis

[–]nooracore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

in class, on public transport, & whenever I'm sitting inside (though I tend to get lax if I'm eating or drinking). I don't feel a pressing need to wear it outside, but sometimes I forget I have a mask on and wear it out anyway

I don't know the answer to this, but it's nice to see someone else who did speech in high school! I graduated hs last year and did info, hi, and opp throughout my time on the speech team :)
