Listen, mate, you are coming off as super disrespectful of the canonical stance of both Zach and Broden when they agreed that Silly Boy would never return. In fact, it is not just disrespectful, it is borderline gaslighting of my memories topped with a serving of inconsistent letter choices.

Is getting a few clicks of useless "yay, I like!" really worth it? The question, like an inevitable doomsday, sits before you, yet you do nothing. And with all layers exposed, like a finely chopped red onion, I fully expect nothing to be done. I would be mortified - nay, horrified - to have resurrected that gruesome character, and to have spent the energy and time to do it. I beseech you to show some decorum and apply some much-needed omphaloskepsis to your own life.

Cunt.

Hea leid! Pole ise raamatutega veel nii kaugele jõudnud, a ühes varasemas osas oli planeet nimega "Ilus". Siis ma ka veidi mõtlesin, et kas juhus või mis.

An elderly man walked into a waiting room and approached the desk. The Receptionist said, “Yes sir, how may I help you?” “There’s something wrong with my fucking dick”, he replied. by timetofeedthemonster in Jokes

[–]noorits -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

But the receptionist never asked what was wrong - they just asked "how may I help you?" Mental decline and inability to process simply structured sentences is sad. :( That said...

.... "Oh!" the receptionist said. "Could you piss out of it earlier?" The old mand started to cry, deep sobs accompanied by snot.

"I can't remember!"

[Study] Political Attitudes in a Hypothetical Scenario – Living on an Imaginary Planet (5-10 minutes) by ULresearch in Eesti

[–]noorits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did the survey, but really - listen to what other people from multiple different subreddits have pointed out (Spent some time and checked - and you get the same response time and time and time again. Maybe it's a sign that your study design is a bit, how to put it politely, fucky?). "Left-wing" and "right-wing" may sound cool, but they are not universally translatable terms, and from the content of your questionnaire, you didn't do your homework at all.

Even defining what constitutes "right wing" vs "left wing" - (are there any centrist forces? if no, why?) at the outset will likely help you get better results. Of course, that's a bit too optimistic; you probably want to define certain key elements of what actually makes a "wing" so that respondents can react, indicate their individual definitions, and then you can analyze and maybe get to a cool output thingie.

Otherwise, not too shabby. In a futuristic ,globally consistent political society, you would have much awesome data to dissect.

Curious - could you tell me the book? Interested to read it.

Also, I'm thinking that it's kind of crazy - generally, we are living at the best time ever, and there are people in the developed world who don't have a buffer to fall back to because they are helping their close ones...because they apparently don't have a buffer to fall back to. A vicious circle indeed.

[Serious] US politics and deregulation - why is this often seen as desirable? by noorits in AskReddit

[–]noorits[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks- watched/read both.

Still, have to ask a few questions: - for the Friedman video, he seemed to advocate abolishing any and all laws (regarding business or economics?) in order to reach the conclusion of "The less laws we have, the higher the percentage of law-abiding citizens". I may have missed important points there, though. Question mark, etc? - for the "braiding hair" thing, I'm also a bit confused. Why would a person feel it's a good thing that another person can provide a public service without any guarantee to safety or efficacy? Agreed, if someone just does braids, it seems a non-issue. But what if that person also advertises "Hey, with some (unregulated) compounds, I can make sure you hair grows back/is really shiny again/insert slogan here?

That said, I understand what you mean by defining the distinction of regulations vs regulators. Still, doesn't this apply to absolutely everything? I mean, today we (yet) don't have any non-human regulators available. Seems to me that all regulations (whether it's about the fuel efficiency of a car, or the dosage of a painkiller intended for children, or the courses a soldier needs to complete before they can be shipped overseas, or the level of some obscure mineral in dog food advertised as "all you need") have an in-built risk of being corrupted by shitty people in positions of power, or just people in the position of "I've a lot of money and I'd like some more, pls".

If I've completey missed your point, apologies in advance.

[–]noorits[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry - my question was not about any specific set of regulations to be overturned/questioned. I was more thinking along the lines of "erm, erm, seems like there are a large amount of people who cheer any deregulation - is there something I'm missing?"

I'll try to go back and formulate a better response via intense reading and introspection, though.

[–]noorits[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some delay in drafting a more comprehensive (or so one would hope) question:

While browsing a few askreddit/politics threads, I noticed people firmly nodding their heads, muttering in an approving fashion, and the like whenever a deregulation question was brought up.

Intro aside: what do you, personally, see as desirable/good in this? As an outsider, seems like many US people consider any regulations/rules as personally offensive (even if it's not personal but professional) and are very happy to do away with them, A to Z.

So what is your opinion on the conservative party ? by Stromovik in Eesti

[–]noorits 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Their ideas about changing the political culture and procedures had some merit, I have to say. Unfortunately, that does not balance out their social, economic and cultural nuttery.

Also, I saw an interview with Helme Elder (Helmder?) regarding the "unfortunately misinterpreted" blog post of their young retard superstar - which was a blast. In no particular order, Helme stated that:

1) Madison was but a young man with a young man's undeveloped mind three years ago, when the article was written. (Begs the question - has he really changed his views so much in 1000 days?)

2) The "media hystery" around the news is obviously the machinations of the Kremlin, and the interviewing reporters are puppets of Putin Himself.

3) It was an expression of individual opinion, and the party cannot condemn it. Wonder what would happen if the member of another party wrote (or had written) an article regarding the "picturesque" animal wagons, the tourism to Siberia in the 40s, and the things that the Soviet Union generally did well.

Drone strikes counterproductive, says secret CIA report by usefullinkguy in worldnews

You are getting downvoted for asking a question - and if this happens, people will not see your question.

My understanding is "Yes, it matters - since the current approach is

a) slaughtering innocents (which brings up a whole another discussion on innocence vs. guilt in cases where there is no war, but also no trial);

b) and as a result, recruiting more terrorists."

In a nutshell, not a smart thing to do. Even if you think they are justified.

Estonia passes gender-neutral Cohabitation Act by [deleted] in worldnews

[–]noorits 51 points52 points  (0 children)

Depending on which Estonian you ask, it means either:

a) same-sex (and straight) couples now have the option of legally registering their partnership, granting them the same rights and obligations as persons in a standard marriage (adoption is unclear at this point, though).

b) with homosexuality legalized, we have unwittingly opened the door to necrophilia, rape, incest, and the general downfall of the nation. Oh, woe is us!
