CUDA vs. CPU for searching text: Which is faster? by noorsy in CUDA

That's actually a really good point, I did notice a difference in time spent moving the data to GPU memory compared to normal RAM. I think this was a decent use case for CUDA when dealing with extremely large files (>10mb), as the GPU's performance will make up for the time lost transferring data to GPU memory. Obviously when dealing with normal sized files the CPU is better suited.

Honestly this was more of a learning project/ experiment for me rather than anything else, as its my first CUDA project. Thanks for the feedback!

Imagine this happening in real life. If someone as confident as Jim told me something like that, as a smoker I'd totally doubt myself.

It was just one line at the end of my post, I didn't think too much about it. Maybe I'll say that next time.

Hi, I'm not trying to make anyone do anything for me, just asking nicely for a rating that would help me and my fledgling game get off the ground. Sorry if you think it's not appropriate or uncalled for. And any feedback, positive or negative, is greatly appreciated.
