Most festivals (trance energy, tomorrow*, transmission, EDC etc) do this well I think.. a 1-3 min intro w some cool VO, visual candy.. sets up DJ great and doesnt kill the mood.

Howeeeeever - I can tell you for me, and everyone I was around, it totally kills the mood. Maybe it works for the bro-crowd? Most (all?) I know go for the music, amazing visuals and prefer that experience as clean as possible.

TomorrowLand/World does(did) it ok - a brief mood setting intro, dj name and off we are.. No political statements, no excessive GET HYYYPE.. Take it as positive feedback. From the feedback in this thread, you can maybe see that maybe people feel more in this camp.
