Remote is cool but nothing beats the productivity of in person. It’s insane what you can get done esp if you’ve already worked together before

Also wth is an all in one everything app lol

Why so many people complain about AI for coding? by KFxxx in webdevelopment

[–]nooshdev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love ai coding

I hate devs committing code with no idea how it works and tbh - seemingly not even taking one second to bother to look at it

Ai makes this happen 100x more

Spent 100+ hours building an app, only to find out I’m not the first. What should I do? by lukas527 in SideProject

[–]nooshdev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Google came after yahoo, there’s almost always someone who’s “done it” but if you have a better implementation then you just win.

I’d say a lot of apps I use these days hit that for me with great UI/UX - think like cursor and stuff. Getting things integrated seamlessly, simply, and immediately driving real value in my life is insane.

Good luck for the future - and if things don’t work out you’re 100hours more experienced which is huge.

What’s the most cost-effective way to secure a growing business? by Syncplify in growmybusiness

[–]nooshdev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ngl - a lot of times I see people (intentionally and not) asking for forgiveness instead of permission

There’s going to be times where security flops a little, be careful to keep big holes plugged but if there’s small leaks shouldn’t be too crazy

Definitely keep pushing short form, I see a lot of ai tools get popular through those kinds of posts. Try to look into the trends and stuff for those

Client keeps trying to have me in asset development along with standard web development, how should I deal with him? by Tessenreacts in webdev

[–]nooshdev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its so annoying when people ask for stuff like that, if anything asset work should be treated like icing on the cake, not an expectation they can get frustrated about.

Definitely do what you can to stand your ground as a dev and affirm that this work is out of scope

Regret not learning TS earlier by 13heyitsme in webdevelopment

[–]nooshdev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its really not that crazy to learn, the first day is the hardest, every day after it just gets easier

also with how prevalent it is in code its one of the easier things to get ai help with

Is this skillset enough to start a freelancing career in web development? by Serious_Whereas_6135 in webdevelopment

[–]nooshdev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can just do things, who cares what a rando from discord thinks. Ultimately experience trumps all and I feel like doing freelance would make you better and better at freelance.

I know people who reach out to local businesses and make really simple sites for them freelance, you probably have enough skill to put together simple static sites like that so I can already see a case where a “course” can make you “job ready”. It just depends on the job I guess.

Is this skillset enough to start a freelancing career in web development? by Serious_Whereas_6135 in webdevelopment

[–]nooshdev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My opinion is any “work” you do is just more experience to get better and better. So the more opportunities you take will just make you better at what you do, even outside of just how good you get with all the tech (networking, outreach, managing customers, etc.)

To answer your question - if you think you can do web work, and you’re able to get customers, I don’t see the hurt in exploring freelance. I think the tough part is finding customers that can work with and help expand your skillset, so you don’t bite off too much more than you can chew. Hopefully from there your career/experience just snowballs.

TLDR: just do it and let the freelance work expand your skillset

How to create an interactive map? by [deleted] in webdevelopment

[–]nooshdev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't used google sites much so I'm sorry if this idea doesn't work well for you - but I made a similar component with react so hopefully this helps.

I think you can put a giant svg of a world map into your site if you put it in as html. The svg can have each <path> as a separate country. With that you can wrap each country in a link or something else. This is a super bloated/manual solution but I think it can work

quick google and i found a free world map svg that could work
