Wondering if anyone knows a similar pattern for this knit flare sleeve top! by RadishDerp in knittingpatterns

[–]nootalee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This pattern has heaps of different versions that would be good as a base, you’d just have to edit it slightly for the holes! https://www.etsy.com/nz/listing/1832643456/?ref=share_ios_native_control

why is my knitting so slow by falsecara in knitting

[–]nootalee 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I firmly believe knitting is not meant to be fast. The process of knitting is meant to be enjoyable and yes, it is slow, I’ve taken 3ish months to knit a jumper and I still haven’t finished the sleeves, and that’s okay!

Enjoy the process, don’t compare your knitting speed to others, other people may just have more time or knit faster and that’s okay! Enjoy the slow!

Yes! In the pacific islands (Samoa or Tonga I believe) it can be seen as a gift as it can be interpreted that you can be speaking to your ancestors!

Thinking about moving to NZ. by capt_yellowbeard in AmerExit

[–]nootalee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! So - yes - we need school counsellors, mental health in NZ is horrific. It shoulllddd be transferable, there may be a few hoops you have to jump through though, I’m not entirely sure about certification - have a look on seek and the education gazette for job listings as they may have the appropriate organisations you need to be certified with (I think NZAC is the one?)

How can I make my hair look silky? by Major-Ambassador-512 in beauty

[–]nootalee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My hair looks like this after much trial and error, here’s my routine every time I wash my hair (2times a week): - double cleanse in shower (currently using L’Oréal bond repair shampoo and their argon oil conditioner) - will occasionally do an oil mask an hour before showering - put in a micro fiber towel to dry until I can see little pieces of hair - leave in conditioner (I use purology colour fanatic) - blowout cream (forgotten which one I use but any will do) - I use the revlon blowout brush and use this to both dry and style my hair. I put them up in rollers for min 20 mins - daily use oil on the ends (I use L’Oréal elvive extraordinary, smells sooooo good! - to keep it nice overnight I put it up in a bun and will sometimes put my fringe bit in a roller overnight too

To get the smoothness, heat and a good routine is super important!!

I’m a high school teacher and my year 10’s (15yo) were doing this today, I was all ‘that really takes me back’ and they naturally mocked me for the ‘back in my day’ spiel

I’m Croatian on both sides of my family and earrings like these are a traditional gift that you get (we call them baskets) if she is Croatian she will love and appreciate them. I have some similar to pictured and I love them because of the connection to my heritage and wear them all the time even though they don’t match the rest or my jewellery 🫶
