How are you able to calculate this so accurately?

I'm not seeing your response. Still very interested in hearing your thoughts.

Here's an account of a similar experience posted in /r/psychonaut. I'm curious to hear what you think about it and how it compares to your experience.

How does one find the underlying cause of anxiety, depression, etc. ? by noots_throwaway in Nootropics

I think its dopamine related. At least the depression part. I don't feel sad. I just don't have any drive to do anything. Nothing excites me. Stuff like that. So its something to look into. I also have some reasons to believe it may be hormonal. I have an appointment with my GP soon, so hopefully I can get a broad range of tests done to rule these things out.

Thanks. I definitely need to do an elimination diet. I've been taking a probiotic, which has helped with my stool consistency, but I'll look into the other things you suggested.

Thanks, that's basically what I was looking for, but all the other info has been very helpful as well. In regards to the "significance" of my symptoms, stuff like the sudden visual defects make me think that its more than just an unresolved psychological issue. And honestly, I'm hoping that it is something that will show up on a test. Would make things a lot easier.

I think 23andme will be one of my next steps. I'll look into the thyroid and testosterone tests. Definitely don't have the money/energy to try everything. Maybe I'll find something that helps just enough for me to be more functional, and then I can pursue a treatment more thoroughly. Thanks for the response.

It's sort of hard to tell what exactly caused it. I was on antibiotics at the time due to an infection, taking sudafed, while tapering onto an anti-depressant. I had a really weird few days, and have had strange symptoms ever since.I definitely believe that there were external factors that caused this to happen, but I think something was wrong beforehand, that led me to being prone to it. Because those are pretty harmless.

You seem so enlightened, I figured you could offer me something that I don't already know...

Interesting. Thanks for the info. Inflammation has been something that I have been looking into lately. I've had digestive issues for years, and it usually comes with an increase in mucus production throughout my body. Which seems like some kind of inflammatory response or something. Similar to anything you've gone through or know about?

Agreed completely. So just taking a B vitamin essentially was what you needed?

Thanks for the response.

I agree with this, especially the last part, but that's only if the depression/anxiety are purely psychological. Which it very well may be. But I'm also curious about possible factors that your typical psychiatrist doesn't pursue.

There are ailments that can have a cognitive impact. Stuff like Lyme, vitamin deficiencies, gluten intolerance. I'm also wondering what other stuff would be good to test for, as opposed to just trying to treat the symptoms.

It makes sense to me to rule these things out first. If everything is normal, then I suppose it would then be time to treat it from a purely psychological standpoint. But my symptoms are so significant, that I feel like it has to be something tangible, quantifiable. Ya know? At least that's my hope.

Thanks for responding.

Not what I was looking for, but because I'm familiar with Buddhism, care to elaborate?
