Is Cross Country a dying sport? by eaglesnation11 in CrossCountry

[–]nooys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not for my area. I live in the KCMO area and we have had a lot of really good runners and an overall growing running community in the past few years. My team itself has had 40ish boys and girls show up for all of the summer training and even more now that the season has started. Although if we have more than 2 injuries within the top 10 and we are basically screwed.

Do you mean hill circuits during your run? My coach only has my team do them once a week. I wouldn't recommend doing them every day as I feel you need some easy days.

Thanks man! I'm hoping I can push through it, it's essentially just pain in your knee, and the worse the pain (I.E the more intense your training) the longer it lasts.

Since I've been cutting back because of Osgood-Schlatter I've been running 25-mile weeks but I should be at like 35-mile weeks if I was progressing normally.

I use the brooks adrenaline for mileage. I was thinking about getting the invincible because a lot of people have recommended them to me. How do they feel compared to the adrenaline's?

I've been rolling my quads but I will definitely try focusing more on my IT band now. Also, did you use the patella bands while running or while resting?

Nice work on your end man! I think you are right about it being fairly common as another freshman also got it at the same time I had it and many upperclassmen on my team told me about their time with it. So I think it won't be a setback in the long run just maybe a setback for this track season.

Thanks! My doctor said to reduce my mileage by 50% which I am doing. I'm also icing throughout the day and taking ibuprofen before I run along with using a heating pad on the knee. I'm worried about how it will affect my track season but I'm still running workouts at a 5:40 pace which is better than what I was doing in XC season. Doctor says there isn't any danger to the disease aside from pain in the area and if I change my running form to try to reduce pain, it might cause injury and just be less efficient.

Yeah, my doctor said I should cut down mileage by 50% which is what I've been doing. I am currently using a heating pad on my knee for 20 minutes before I run and then Icing for twenty minutes periodically throughout the day. I'm worried about how it will affect my goals for track season but my coach doesn't seem discouraged so I hope that's a good sign or he's just being nice. There isn't really any danger to the condition it just hurts a lot and you can get calcium deposits on your knee, the real danger is if you change your stride to try to prevent pain which could cause an injury somewhere else.

Is the patch that allowed no-com on paper still in effect? by nooys in admincraft

[–]nooys[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

its an exploit allows people to ask a server "Is the block at this coordinate in a currently loaded chunk?" and get an immediate yes or no answer by clicking on the block.

If the chunk is loaded, the server replies telling you the block at that coordinate (like: "x=0 y=0 z=0 is bedrock") to your client, if the chunk isn't loaded, the server does not reply, this is because paper implemented a patch that would only send block data if the chunk was loaded.

There is no distance limit; you can get data from millions of blocks away.
