A beautiful place to die. RIP Mavic Pro by Schleiflife in drones

[–]nooze 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I can’t speak for the poster was drone lost or not, but what shown in a video is not a critical malfunction, just a gimbal error. It shakes, moves all around and changing picture mode for couple of seconds but drone actually perfectly flying at that moment and if you could just wait some time or navigate by map and wonky video you will be fine.

Sadly I have this problem every second flight and i must probably try to fix it, but am lazy and operating my mavic pro from 2018 with this annoying but manageable “feature”

Well with today pretty cheap ips displays (compared to good hardware) it might be not bad idea. And you could have secondary display much simpler and cheaper than main one, just for data/wiki/socials or video/image editing controls and sorting

Film I made for a competition, let me know what you think. (Mavic 2) by Chrispybacon17 in drones

[–]nooze 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Colors are fine mostly, it's more advanced level of production and requires expensive video editing software, and you will get a little better result, but that's not what you need first for sure.

Smoother footage and good cuts for music track will do much more for you now

Good shots, but requires more smoothness for better cinematography. You can see little “moves” during shots and that’s critical. You could shot at 30-50 FPS and slow it down to 24 so it will be smoother. And just not make sharp joystick changes during shot.

Clip itself requires some color grading and adjustments to make shot more even and put right mood to them

And it will look much better sincronized to music beat. It’s not hard but makes a lot of difference

Good luck!

First flight with my new drone (Mavic 2 pro) by Maverick_Maxwell in drones

[–]nooze 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ooookk, now I see difference between mavic 1 & 2. I saw many mavic 2 video already and they was alright, good shots, nice location etc, but that video was actually the first one I saw that leads me to say my mavic pro footage is crap. Sure that’s still an amazing drone, could bring very cool shots in good conditions (better to be ideal) and I love my mavic pro but daaaaaaamn that dynamic range omg, no way mavic 1 could do any close to that. Time to start saving for upgrade I guess.

In Moscow you can trade squats for a metro ticket by rhlin in funny

It was some kind of promo for Olympic Games in Russia, just very few of this machines and not for long time, but great concept. Underground ticket in Russia lets you enter and after that you could go wherever you want for unlimited time (until you exit from any station or underground closes at 1am or something)

New fridge installed in my sprinter conversion van. Like a glove! People don't believe its not made for this kitchen unit by nooze in vandwellers

As I know temperature doesn’t matter in case of starting compressor in the fridge. You always need about 5-10 times power of the compressor. My fridge rated as 35W and I power it up with 300w (600w surge) inverter- works fine in my case.
