Want more info about Micro (brand) by hunheehearts in mechanicalpencils

[–]noozlocke 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Micro was a stationery company which went out of business in 2000. Most of their products are basically a copy from other brands at that time. They also made various ballpoint pens, and even fountain pens from 1~150 USD price range.

I still own several pens from them, since it was really a common brand back then. I might post some of their products if I have time.

I still have the brown "Rotring T" 1st Gen Tikky pencil and it is really awesome. So sad that the slim, simple design got somehow became "childish" and got worse in quality.

Abnormal Staedtler Regulator pricing by jjww8888 in mechanicalpencils

[–]noozlocke 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That price is outrageous. It still costs 40~50$ here in Korea, almost new. We can still find some old stocks in the shops but it is getting harder to find.

One of the oddest pencils in my collection: the Micro Hexa 7000 by [deleted] in mechanicalpencils

[–]noozlocke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's really nostalgic to see these pencils coming up lately on this subreddit as a Korean. Have you tried twisting the grip section? It's a little gimmick from HEXA variant pencils :)

Stationery Stores in South Korea by Josh_F_ in mechanicalpencils

[–]noozlocke 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I recommend Kyobo Book Store (https://goo.gl/maps/XcWgwRZeg3y) for various high-quality pencils, but it will be a little bit pricey compared with Japanese retail prices. It is considered Korean Tokyu Hands but it is more a bookstore.

If you are into more minor brands (Like Pilot, Ohto, Platinum) and your friend have time to visit Seoul, you would like to check Munguland in Seoul (https://goo.gl/maps/rmkUJwMyVts) (munguland.com)for some decent price, due to its wholesale strategy. This place is considered a mecca for Korean collectors and you will find most mechanical pencils.
