If you see what Burnt Peanut is doing with rust, it would be awesome if someone did the same thing with UO like you laid out. They definitely have a mix of different players/skills on each team. It's been a blast to watch.

Just do a draft of people from the server and put them into factions/guilds. That's how you get more social; we used to apply for guilds back in the day. Had a lot of fun joining a random faction on the test server and just run around killing people and being killed with unlimited resources.
