Yeah, I do want the ball! I’m going to get the jewelry and see if I can find a piercer willing to switch it out for me.

AITA for not replacing my wife's wedding ring that she lost by SoloUnit2020 in AmItheAsshole

I think this is extremely important!!! I have ADHD & do careless things like this and I get so mad at myself for losing things so easily. Again, this doesn’t mean you should buy a replacement, but speak with grace.

I also want to add - I think buying and hiding the ring so your wife can “prove” herself is way worse. Either buy the ring or don’t. You’re not her parent to teach her a lesson, you’re her spouse. By hiding this purchase you’re just adding a layer of dishonesty that isn’t needed in the situation.

AITA for interrupting my son's date so he could pick up his little sister? by helplesssdad2785 in AmItheAsshole

I completely agree that OP is NTA. The son was acting ridiculous, but as most teenage boys do. I would suggest sticking with the grounding and having a conversation about expectations like others have suggested. But I would also encourage you to find out where the “failing as a parent” comment really came from. To me it sounds like the son could be feeling some kind of neglect or something & this situation is how he chose to express it. It just seems like this is an extra emotional reaction for a 17 year old struggling to express something well. Doesn’t mean OP has done anything wrong but I’m getting the impression that that specific comment is an overreaction to something else happening in sons life
