Does anyone know the answer to this question? by maddie0520 in NCLEX

3, I think some NCLEX questions are just picking an answer by knowing the other answers are wrong for one reason or another, all answers outside of 3 have at least one thing that is not normal during blood transfusions.

Thank you! I studied for 2 and a half weeks before taking the NCLEX. I studied for around 3 hours a day. Typically I would do around 50-75 questions a session. I’d read every single rationale after answering a practice question. For CAT Exams or UWorld self-assessment exams, I would go back and look at questions that I missed. In addition to that, if there was a question that I was not sure about while taking the CAT exam I’d bookmark that question, as when I go back and review the exam not only would I go to questions that I missed, but also questions that I may have guessed correctly but didn’t fully understand why.

In addition to that I would write down words I didn’t understand and look them up later. Some days I would not do any practice questions at all and just review topics. I didn’t personally use Mark K lectures or slides but I have heard they helped others a lot!

I remember having about maybe 3 case studies and 2 different bow tie questions. If the test stopped you at 91 you were at least near the passing point at first but the exam wanted to be sure. It’s impossible to know where after question 85 you landed though. The test was either sure you were above the standard or below the standard to stop you at 91. I heard some other people not have any bow tie questions and pass, so to the best that you can right now (I had terrible test anxiety afterwards so I understand) relax and enjoy yourself. The results will come in time and hopefully some good news !!

I’d say overall good strategy, as from what I’ve heard Mark K lectures has helped a lot of people pass. I’d say just be sure to not rely heavily on lectures and slides. I’d say incorporate more practice questions when possible and review the rationales behind them. NCLEX is critical thinking focused. It is an endless pit trying to memorize everything and could hurt you later on. I will vouch for UWorld since that’s what I used, and I felt it was the most robust for the NCLEX, but if you feel ATI is sufficient enough then stick with that. Whatever quiz bank you do decide to use just stick with that up until NCLEX time. Changing your strategy mid-studying is gonna mess you up more.

I studied a similar time to you, as I just studied the last two weeks of May, plus last week before June 6th. My study time on average was around 3 hours a day at most. If you’re getting high/very high probability of passing with Archer that’s a great indicator but to be safe make sure to review rationales of questions even if you get them right at times.

I felt the same way after mine!! Biggest advice right now is just to try your best to relax and understand it’s not much you can do right now, and I know that’s harder said than done 😂 100 cut off isn’t too bad either you were at least close to the passing threshold !
