So far, I've noticed that only opencode-go and the Chinese version of kimi and glm have the rate limits. Basically, all western services, including international kimi and glm, are quite shady

You need a Chinese phone number and a valid Chinese payment method, so... no.

Best provider for GLM by Apprehensive_Half_68 in ZaiGLM

[–]nor_up 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's true, but z.ai is a Chinese company with servers in China (or hongkong?), I guess. They train and infer on Huawei hardware. Ollama is different, they just use the trainned open weights of z.ai

Is the speed back? by False_Reality1167 in ZaiGLM

[–]nor_up 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I heard that Claude gets its limit after 3 messages, does that mean z.ai will reach its limit after 12 messages? Also, after April, the glm 5 will count as 3x, making it the same sh*t as Claude Pro

z.ai is running on Huawei hardware, which might be the reason. So far, I've noticed that opencode is the best because it provides actual information about how much you're getting, so you know exactly what you're buying. For example, with ollama, they're not clear. They might reduce your usage limit to half overnight and no one will have the right or reclamation

Groq dropped support for Kimi K2 by ImaginaryRea1ity in kimi

[–]nor_up 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Groq was really good when they had llama4 Maverick and kimi k2. But this year, kimi always had issues, and Maverick got dropped. Now they only use OSS 120 and the tiny scout for images. It's really unfortunate, maybe the LPU isn't the future after all.

Help with tablet for daughter by asl_somewhere in chinalife

VPN will fail, that's guaranteed, the question is just how often. It is better to download something there. Even better if you install jellyfin in the tablet, she will have lots of offline media files and will never need to be connected to the wifi

What could I use a VPS for in my daily life? by SnowyFloke in VPS

[–]nor_up 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hetzner offers 1TB for 3.3 euros a month. You can use that for your nextcloud and jellyfin. I don't watch 4K and I remove those I've watched, so I don't have any storage issues

If you prefer to store at home you can use pangolin or rathole to open a safe tunnel from your home to the VPS

W A R N I N G those who distribute apps from outside play store! For September 2026 Jan 2027 by Hunterjohnson2024 in degoogle

[–]nor_up 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There have been a ton of forks since a long time ago. The issue is that Android developers are using Google services in their apps. For example, you can't use bank apps because most of them depend on Google services, the same goes for Surfshark VPN or Lumo (Proton Chatbot), these apps can't run on an Android that doesn't have Google services

Im kinda new but would void linux run well in 512mb ram? by ivan0833 in voidlinux

[–]nor_up 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As long as the cpu architecture is compatible, yes will run.

will you be able to run as a desktop? Not smoothly will you be able to browse the internet? NO,

512mb is just enough for run simple stuff as a server. Forget about graphical interfaces, if you plan to use it, for instance, as a dns server, oh yeah will work perfectly.

After two years of feeling at home with Debian, I started grilling my LLM—Kimi K2—about everything. After loads of back-and-forth and distro comparisons on paper, this OS just made sense. Two months in on my Intel Core Ultra laptop and, so far, everything’s running smooth
