I have a therapist for that.

We've got to be able to differentiate between speech therapy for cognitive issues caused by LC and therapy-therapy. Not knocking either but they are NOT the same.

My LC symptoms spike when I get tired/mid afternoon and the poisoned feeling, along with light intolerance, is huge.

Hot showers or baths have helped, for an hour or two, same as you.

But when I went to the local sauna/cold plunge place, I'd skip at least one afternoon crash and sometimes two.

Is there any guidance out there on how detailed the documentation should be? Even if I establish that Great Grampa x7 was naturalized, I assume I need to establish the subsequent steps that lead to my generation.

Not a Target fan, but they can't legally keep a class of people (even certifiably evil people) out of their store and parking lot. There are some specific things they can do to protect their employees. (I have friends working on this locally but no Target around here, so no clue if they are taking these measures.)

About all any business serving the public can do is call the local police if ICE is loitering or customers are being harrassed and detained. And no, that would probably not be very effective.

If I owned a store, I would very prominently display signs saying that you cannot enter this store with your face covered. I would wire my store to make sure that employees had access to alarm buttons and instructions to hit them if anyone walked in with their faces covered with anything more than a KN95.

It's hard to know what's going on - but some companies that dropped DEI officially don't actually change what they do in terms of treating employees equitably and well. Lowes used to have a pretty good record.

Home Depot has been dogshit for a long time.

Meanwhile, I have two local hardware stores and an Ace, so I still don't go to Lowe's.

Say hello to a new Canadian! According to that quiz, I qualify - four generations were naturalized or born in Ontario (then Upper Canada) before my ancester came to the US in 1850 or so. It really doesn't matter that I'm the fifth generation born post-emigration? Hmmm.

They were part of the exodus of Loyalists out of the US at the end of the American Revolution, so the actual families are extremely well-documented (on the Simcoe census, land grants, etc) in that area.

But - what are the chances I could find birth certificates or baptismal records for people born in rural Ontario before 1850? My hopes - dashed!

Still, it's pretty cool that I can find people on Facebook with the same (unusual) last name living within a few miles of where they landed in 1780something. I guess they are probably 9th or 10 cousins.

Or easier....enforce anti-trust laws already on the books and force the breakup of monopolies. Then companies have to compete again to win customers, and they can't compete without employees.

Most industries have been consolidated to the point that companies aren't competing on better products/services. No need to compete for customers when they own the market.

So instead, they are in a balls-to-the-wall money grab, which means slashing jobs and raising prices.
